I included a few team on the fringe of our viewing area in Beaumont. Prior to 1957 state was 8 teams instead of 4.

Interesting note: Had a state tournament existed for class AA in 1975 Hamshire-Fannett would have qualified.  HF defeated Columbus in the regional finals but that ended the season as only larger classifications had a state tournament for baseball at that time.  I believe the next year the state tournament expanded for smaller classifications. 

There may be other "small" schools from the area that would have qualified prior to '75. 

Any other examples???
