I don't think it had anything to do with coaching.  I think it had everything to do with the AD job and his ability to hire quality coaches, given the very small budget Kelly has to offer.  Lots of headaches managing the athletic department.  I know for a fact he was excited about his incoming talent.

He worked in the diocese , he knows how the pay scale is lower then public schools.  Wasn't a shock.  Is is how the Head coach there doesn't have a lot of control, due to the administration.
