HDBobcats9 Posted June 21, 2012 Report Posted June 21, 2012 After reading one of the threads on here (SE Texas Football championships), I got to re-looking at some of the old Hull-Daisetta stuff from the 1930's when they set the then national record for consecutive wins with 43 from 1936-1939. I was gonna post on the thread my argument that HD has been to at least 5 championship games, since back in the old days, smaller schools only played to a Regional Championship as opposed to state championship. Anyway, all that aside, I was just amazed when looking at the scores from those seasons, and even more-so with the schools that HD was playing. I'm going to post the season scores below for those four seasons. Notice that several of the schools on the list are no longer open (since combining or opening newer high schools) and that all the current schools on the list are 3A, 4A, 5A, or split up to now be multiple high schools! Every town on here, EXCEPT Hull-Daisetta has gotten bigger by leaps and bounds. Just wanted to share.....1936 Season (11-0 Regional Champs) HD - 33 Sour Lake - 0HD - 52 Crosby - 0HD - 31 Port Neches - 0HD - 31 Liberty - 0HD - 33 Barbers Hill - 0HD - 33 Dayton - 0HD - 26 Cleveland - 0HD - 32 Baytown Cedar Bayou - 0HD - 41 Humble - 0 Bi-District:HD - 34 Beaumont French -6Regional Final:HD - 39 Angleton - 01937 Season (12-0 Regional Champs)HD - 12 Anahauc - 0HD - 47 Sour Lake - 0HD - 34 Crosby - 0HD - 26 Huntsville - 0HD - 21 Cleveland - 0HD - 26 Liberty - 0HD - 21 Dayton - 6HD - 43 Barbers Hill - 7HD - 41 Baytown Cedar Bayou - 0HD - 39 Humble - 7Bi-District:HD- 6 Nederland - 0Regional Final:HD - 21 Pasadena - 121938 Season (12-0 Regional Champions)HD - 2 Anahauc - 0HD - 29 Sour Lake - 0HD- 13 Beaumont French - 0HD - 8 Dayton - 6HD - 27 Crosby - 0HD - 21 Liberty - 12HD - 20 Barbers Hill -13HD - 25 Cleveland - 6HD - 27 Baytown Cedar Bayou - 2HD - 34 Humble - 6Bi-District:HD - 20 Port Neches - 12Regional Final:HD - 13 Alvin - 61939 Season (9-1)HD - 32 Tomball - 0HD - 50 Barbers Hill - 12HD - 18 Nederland - 6HD - 31 Liberty - 8HD - 45 Jasper - 6HD - 26 Yoakum - 0HD - 26 Cleveland - 0HD - 34 Dayton - 12HD - 0 Humble - 13Season Scoring:1936: HD - 354Opponents - 61937:HD - 337Opponents - 321938:HD - 239Opponents - 631939:HD - 262Opponents - 574 Year Span: 43-1HD- 1192Opponents: 158Somewhat amazing how much has changed over nearly 75 years. Not sure if Hull-Daisetta could beat any of the teams on these schedules now. Hard to believe that little town was able to accomplish that so long ago. Go Bobcats!!!
E A G L E B L U E Posted June 21, 2012 Report Posted June 21, 2012 Very Interesting. Nice piece of information there !
H-D BOBCAT 55 Posted June 22, 2012 Report Posted June 22, 2012 Good post. I had posted this a few years back.
mikelbene Posted June 22, 2012 Report Posted June 22, 2012 Yeah, that was back when 21 year old roughnecks still suited up and played for HD. Or so i've been told.

Remember the Beaumont area was the spindletop. No regulations, so i'm sure there was a few kids older than 18 on many teams.
understand Posted June 22, 2012 Report Posted June 22, 2012 I'm not from here, but i have been here for some 20 years and a local coach just gave me a dvd with the world claiming Beaumont, Texas as home of the PROS it was 16 NFL players playing at the same time in the pros and they were from just two schools in Beaumont that was CP and Hebert so if the school you guys write so much about like the PNG, Nederland, WOS, Dayton,Vidors BH, and HD; well where were your teams then and if all the schools were playing UIL History would not read the same.

Not taking anything away from that 4 year run but I do not see one team HD would even make a game with today.Heck, back in those days aTm even won a national championship
H-D BOBCAT 55 Posted June 22, 2012 Report Posted June 22, 2012 DUH! We got 900 people! I hope not! lol
