I wouldn't put a lot of faith in anything they "know". They rank Newton 2nd in state and ahead of Tatum, yet pick Tatum over Newton in the regional finals. Personally I don't think Newton is that caliber team to be ranked 2nd and I also don't think Kirbyville will be second in district. From what I saw last year, EC is head and shoulders above Kirbyville. Kirbyville dropped in the realignment back to 2A, but dropped into a hornets nest of a district. Should be an interesting year for everybody.

The preseason rankings prove it. District 10 is one of the toughest in the state in 1A Div. 1. Two state ranked teams and a powerful West Sabine squad lurking at the top. Have said this before but it bears repeating: whoever gets out of this district will be tough outs in the playoffs...........

Strange.  WO-S usually top 10 as a given due to past history and reputation.  This year they have several D1 candidates and rank 23.  DCTF puts high emphasis on D1 prospects and returning starters on making their rankings.  This may be good for WO-S although they may not bust the top 10 due to their schedule.  But I do see them making a post season run.  The defense sounds pretty stout from what I've been reading.

3A has a high number of strong teams. Regardless, WO-S fans should not care about the rankings at this time of year.  We have much work to do and it doesn't matter how much DC sees in our team.

They have to get past a pretty good BC team and Silsbee team in district.
