But 2012 brings change as Josh Finney, an accomplished coach who comes to Liberty County from Mesquite Poteet, takes over in Bobcat Land. With 14 starters returning, it appears that the Bobcats have a good foundation to biuld on for a return to the playoffs.Coaching StaffHead Coach: Josh FinneyCoaching Record: 1st Year at Hull-Daisetta; 45-16 overallAssistant Coaches:Coach Finney is still finalizing his coaching staffStadium Information*Home Stadium: Bobcat FieldAddress: Hwy 770 and Cyprus, Daisetta, Texas 77533Capacity: 800Playing surface: Natural2011 Results

Opponent Score

Kountze 14-41

Iola 7-12

Malakoff Crossroads 53-45

Tarkington 41-18

Deweyville 16-42

High Island 48-14

Colmesneil# 70-14

West Hardin# 20-57

Lovelady# 21-42

West Sabine# 34-62

# - District games2012 OffenseOffense: Multiple IReturning starters: 7Hull-Daisetta will return 7 starters as it switches from the Wing-T to the multiple I set. The main cog in that switch will be senior running back Tyler Drake (1st team all district pick in 2011), who rushed for 1003 yards in 2011. Also helping tote the offensive load will be senior backs Austin Edmondson (honorable mention all district) and Kevin Braxton (11-1A-I newcomer of the year in 2011) and Garrett Hickman, as well as junior running back Chase Hill. Amongst those that will be pulling the load up on the offensive line will be seniors Thomas Stanley and Dakota Abraham (both 2nd team all district picks in 2011). They'll be joined on the line at times by seniors Thomas Wells, Chris Taylor and Brady Ben and juniors Bryce McCluskey, Chris Herman and Dezman Cook.2012 DefenseDefense: 50Returning starters: 7The Bobcats will return seven starters to employ the same 50 defense that the team ran under former coach Joe Allen Slack. Senior Chris Taylor (2nd team all district) will be joined by Wells, Stanley, McCluskey, Ben, Herman Abraham and Cook. The linebacker corp should be especially strong as Hickman, who Coach Finney describes as a solid player with a nose for the ball will be joined by senior Eddie Metcalf (2nd team all district in 2011) and junior Cody Espree. Hill will lead a secondary that will also include Hill and Edmonson.2012 Special TeamThe kicking duties will again be handled by Justin Welch, the 2011 Special Teams Player of the Year.2012 Key Games Hull-Daisetta will begin the 2012 season at Hardin on August 31st. The Bobcats will not begin their district slate until October 26th when they host Iola. That will be followed with Hull-Daisetta hosting rival West Hardin. The 'Cats end the regular season by traveling to Colmesneil on November 9th.Full 2012 Schedule

Date Opponent Time

Aug. 31 at Hardin 7:00 p.m.

Sept. 7 Kountze 7:00 p.m.

Sept. 14 Groveton 7:30 p.m.

Sept. 21 at Lovelady 7:00 p.m.

Sept. 28 at Deweyville 7:30 p.m.

Oct. 5 at Galveston O'Connell 7:00 p.m.

Oct. 12 Normangee 7:00 p.m.

Oct. 19 OPEN

Oct. 26 Iola# 7:00 p.m.

Nov. 2 West Hardin# 7:00 p.m.

Nov. 9 at Colmesneil# 7:30 p.m.

#-District Games*Source: Texas Stadium Database: http://www.texasbob.com/stadium/stadium.php?id=864Helmets Courtesy of: http://www.txhshelmetproject.com/
