However, the District 22-3A action found them on the outside looking in by a single game. But with the veteran help, Coach Shane deal and his thirteen returning starters look to get the Panthers back to the playoffs. Senior receiver Jordan Jones (1st team all district, 68 rushes, 724 yd., 10 TD rushing; 47 receptions, 634 yd., 3 TD receiving) and junior receiver Aaron Mosley (2nd team all district, 26 receptions, 584 yd., 10 TD) will team with junior tight end Terric Johnston to form the Panther receiver corp. Deel will look to their sole returning lineman, senior Denton Orand to lead a young offensive line which will include juniors Luke Mangum, Blake Brown, Gavan Motschman and Jose Perales.[size=14pt][b][u]2012 Defense[/u][/b][/size][size=12pt][b]Defense: 50Returning starters: 8[/b]The Panthers will return eight starters on defense, including all district pick senior tackle Omar Tebo (91 tackles, 14 for loss). He will be joined on the line by senior tackle C.J. Melonson, senior end Nadarius Lewis and junior end Dionte Robinson (2nd team all district in 2011). Senior linebacker Daniel Hebert will be joined by junior Coy Draper. Junior Aric Foster (35 solo tackles, 16 assists) will lead a Liberty secondary which will include senior Zack Fregia (who returns from a torn ACL in 2011) and sophomore Andrew Fregia (28 tackles, 2 int in 2011). They will be joined by juniors Ja'Coby Fountain and Torian Herman.[size=14pt][b][u]2012 Special Teams[/u][/b][/size]While the kicking situation has yet to be determined, Jones and Zack Fregia will be handling the returns.[size=14pt][b][u]2012 Key Games[/u][/b][/size]Liberty will open their 2012 season by hosting Jasper on August 31st. Splendora will visit on September 28th for the district 22-3A opener. The following week, the Panthers travel for a key district battle with Huffman. Other key games include Cleveland (Oct. 19th) and a visit to Coldspring (Oct. 26th).
