Could we see any Allstate performers this year? Seems like they have a strong team coming back. Their schedule is very very tough compared to past years. How far could they go this year.

I really do not see all state performances but not out of the question. It will not take all state performances to make this team successful. Just good solid team play.

The interior line play on both sides of the ball will be the determining factor on how far this Tiger team can go.

I am looking forward to the village creek rivalry this year...watched Silsbee and Lumberton in several 7 on 7 games and it sure seemed like some of those boys didn't like each other much.  that's how most rivalry games go.  Ready for Friday Night Lights!

I'm disappointed that Jasper isn't on the schedule this year. Jasper and Silsbee have played just about every year!

I remember when it use to be Silsbee, Jasper, LCM, WOS, Nederland, Lincoln, BC, and PNG for district. When only 2 teams went to the playoffs were the good ol days.

Can't blame Silsbee on that one, they tried.

Even the Jasper superintendent called to apologize on behalf of Jasper for not getting the game scheduled.

Sad part, the coach that chose not to schedule Silsbee left Jasper after just one season.

Can't blame Silsbee on that one, they tried.

Even the Jasper superintendent called to apologize on behalf of Jasper for not getting the game scheduled.

Very much too late.

Silsbee is not going to back out on PNG, LCM, Lumberton and Livingston now putting those teams scrambling to find an opponent this late in the year. All of those teams schedules are set and most likely 99% of all the teams in the state are set schedule wise.

And interestingly enough, Jasper had someone (Lake Charles La Grange) that backed out on them and the last time I talked to Coach Barbay, they had not filled that slot yet.

Only way Jasper would face Silsbee in the DI playoffs is in the regional finals. I don't expect for both teams to make it that far, maybe one of them could.
