How far will your school go in the playoffs?

Recommended Posts

Everyone in 1A Region 3 seems to be caught up in the San Augustine dropping to to 1A hoopla. They are extremely talented and will no doubt be a handful for anyone who plays them, and Alto is always strong, and then you have Mart with another Cosby in the backfield waiting in the playoffs. That all being said, West Sabine is a sleeper team that should not be overlooked out of this region. They have one of the best QB's in 1A that nobody seemingly has heard of in Desmond Lacey and an enormous amount of playoff-tested seniors coming back. The young defense which, admittedly, took some lumps last year is a year older and more experienced in the defensive scheme. Overlook them at your own risk, that's all I'm saying.

All the way to state playing Denton Guyer.
I'm gonna have to say all the way to state too!
This is what i have to deal with. 3 Dayton people honestly think they are going to state this year ;D REALY! I mean it is great to have that kind of believe that you team can go, but at some point it is just being delusional. Last year you beat the 3rd place team in 20 4A by 5 points and you’re going to state this year because Manvel is gone LOL!!! And all of this with a new QB and an average RB!! Oh I forgot the Dayton Kicker will be kicking 80 yard field goals to take up the slack. Reality is if Dayton gets a good draw in Round 1 this year they will skip to round 3 and meet this years Manvel then basketball season starts. ;) That Purple Kool Aid is some powerfull stuff ;D
It's about time that we remind our purple loving friends about reality.  ;)  Manvel & LaMarque wern't the only teams in your way.  Yes, they were big obstacles, but I can think of a few teams that could still give the Broncos trouble.  (Angleton, Brenham, Connally, Dawson, Montgomery, Nederland, Summer Creek, Terry, Texas City) That's just a few you should worry about in region 3.  Then there will be the usual surprise team or two.
like OZEN! "REMEMBER THE PANTHERS"
Ozen wasn't a surprise to me....  I was one of the few people that picked them to make the playoffs before the season.  Now them beating my Cubs shocked me....

Manvel vs Lake Travis... DII STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!!
Really don't think Manvel can handle Katy.
We will see... Last year Katy was expected to CRUSH LaPorte.  The game must be played.  But Katy is a great team and any team will have trouble handling them.

SA was pretty rough in 2A last year. Losing only three starters and a drop to 1A. Doesn't sound like hoopla to me. Looking forward to the 10/26 matchup! Those next door neighbor games are the most fun to watch!

Most people have WS picked to finish 3rd in th district and are aware of Lacy. Depending upon whether or not Whitaker (Alto) or Tanner (SA) get MVP of the district, Lacy has a chance to get 2nd team or honorable mention all district. SA beat WS 35-0 last year and SA is a year older returning more starters than WS. Depending upon how the brackets shape out WS should walk through any team from the south but it will be tougher in the second round. My prediction is WS 3rd in the district and bi-district champions.

Glad to see my post has stirred up a little controversy! Sometimes that is more fun the games themselves! All I was saying is dont underestimate them. @jessejames: yes those type games are often quite intense and entertaining to watch. See you on 10/26! @89falcon: yes, I agree both tanner and whitaker will be in the running for mvp, but so will lacey. All three are amazing athletes and are exciting to watch. If you go watch any of them, as T.O. would say, "Getcha popcorn ready!" Can't wait to tee it up in August!!!

I think the 2nd place team from district 10 will be in the regional finals...as for the 3rd place team they have Mart waiting on them in the 2nd round.  If you can't beat Alto or SA (who i predict 1,2 in district 10) then your chances of beating Mart are slim to none.  But it's not even a guarantee that the 3rd place team gets out of the first round.  Chances are you'll be playing Joaquin or Carlisle...and West Sabines recent history with Joaquin hasn't been good.  At best I'm gonna give West Sabine two rounds deep and bowing out to Mart...and thats at best...its not a knock at West Sabine, its just my opinion which i think is based on pretty good logic

Pretty good chance Vidor could meet Brenham in the second round. That predictions thread could get interesting.  ;D
if that happens and vidor beats them BrenhamFan might have to be put on suicide watch  ;)

SMH.  ::)

Scooter, there's nothing to worry about.  The only way Vidor can go D2 (which is what would have to happen to play us) is for PNG to make the playoffs, and I think your prediction for them was, "no playoffs".
you got that right. it'll take a wild weather event for png to make the playoffs.
Well.... As usual, we will do a rain dance and pay the officials like we always do to make it in.  ::)

Love all the haters on here. Just makes it that much better when we shut everyone's mouths and perform as usual.  8)

Livingston 2 Rounds, maybe 3, if, if, if, our young linemen pan out.
highly doubtful.....
Stll upset from last year, guess I''ll predict for your team: NO PLAYOFF ;D ;D
Hardly.  It was you sitting home and missing the playoffs. :D
If I recall, didn't you all join the ONE and DONE CLUB last year! Is that what you got to show for making the playoffs last year! ;D ;D ;D ;D
Last time I checked.... that's one more game than the Lions suited up for.  Looks like Vidor was just too much for the Lions on that last game and put an end to what all you Lions fans were touting as the "year of the Lions".

Don't hate bro...  We will be at your cracker jack box stadium again this year with our large following that will out number your home crowd 3-1 to show you what a playoff team in 2012 looks like.
That's good beating you all in the last game will make it better. And to show you how much class we will have for the PNG fans who has class, we promise at that time not to say: NO PLAYOFFS!! ;D ;D, because you sound like a runaway squaw.

Don't think PAM can hang with Manvel.
Manvel got their head boxed in by North Shore, Mustangs put 42 straight on them at one point. I think PAM played the best they could but came up just short. Manvel airs it out where NS runs it, so unless PAM can't defend the pass I would take them in that one. Anyway, I got Crosby losing a nailbiter to Texas City in the D2 regional final at Stallworth stadium.

Im going to go with Nederland as the best team in SETX to have a chance to make the State Game.
One season crowns Nederland as the best team in SETX?  Please, explain that logic.

3rd round last year with almost the same roster as this year, and 13 or 14 straight district wins, we surely came out of nowhere

    • Are you really gonna talk about decorum from a President while supporting the guy who effectively has no such decorum? Just last night the former president (and would-be despot) was in Arizona talking with Tucker Carlson and fantasized about Liz Cheney in front of a firing squad… after calling her dumb, of course.     Trump didn’t just “defecate all over the office of the President”…. He is a piece of excrement.
    • I personally hope PN-G gets 2nd gets to the 2nd round wins the flip against SOC and drag them them to Houston to play
    • I like option number two, PNG and Nederland both win. Nederland i’ll be the district champion, number 1 seed or whatever you want to call it. Yes I know that if two or three teams tie with the same record, they will be called co-champions and everyone gets a trophy. One team however will go in as the first place team in district and will play the fourth place team in the bi-district round. If PNG and Nederland both win, Nederland will be #1. • Virginia has same day voter registration. A person can literally walk in to the voting location, register and then vote. So the premise that Virginia might be stopping people with a legitimate right to vote is nonsense. From what I gather in the news report, assuming that the ones I have read are correct, the people that were removed, filled out a drivers license registration and marked that they were not an American citizen. Could the person have made a mistake bychecking the box incorrectly? Although unlikely it is certainly possible. That same person who was removed can go into the same voting location where he would have voted and again, complete a voter registration and then vote.  That went into the Supreme Court’s decision.  If such a person votes by registering on election day, he fills out a provisional ballot. Provisional ballots are not originally counted and or not counted unless needed. For example….  Statewide there are 500 provisional ballots cast. A person wins the election by 4,000 votes. That would be no need to count the provisional ballots as it will not matter. Then let’s say there are 5,000 provisional ballots cast in the election. One candidate then wins the election by only 1,500 votes. In that case, the election could definitely swing on those provisional ballots. The state will then investigate each person to make sure they live at the correct address listed and that they are American citizens. If these things are correct, the vote will then be counted. Safe Harbor is not untillll…… I think December 17th this year so there will be six weeks to verify the provisional ballots if needed. The purging of the names of people who checked a state form saying that they were not an American citizen, will not stop that same person from voting.
