However, a Bayou Bowl lost to Bridge City left the Bobcats sitting home for the 3A playoffs. The 2012 season at Orangefield will be a season of change graduation has meant that only nine starters will return from the previous team. That and a new name, but a familiar face takes over the head coaching position as Josh Smalley, the former Bobcat offensive coordinator who held the same position for the last few years in Bridge City, will come in to get Orangefield over that hump and into the playoffs. This year's offense should be centered around junior running back Carl Wiley (2nd team all district, 95 carries, 568 yd, 3 TD in 2011). Also looking to help carry the offensive load will be senior wide receiver Eric Truncale (44 carries, 292 yd rushing, 1 TD in 2011). Also helping with the load will be junior tight end Mason Sonnier (1st team all district, 5 catches, 45 yards in 2011). 2012 DefenseReturning starters: 4Coach Smalley will also be using the summer workouts to find the right combination on defense as only four starters return from the 2011 squad. Sonnier will team with senior Tyron Como to lend some stability to the Bobcat front line. The strength of the Orangefield defense should be the linebacker corp which will include senior linebackers Levi Shores and Dustin Selman (both second team all district picks in 2011). Truncale (a first team all district pick at cornerback in 2011) and Wiley will anchor the Bobcat secondary.2012 Key GamesOrangefield will begin its regular season by heading to Winnie to take on East Chambers on August 31st. Silsbee will come to town to open 21-3A play on September 28th. The last two weeks of the season will see the Bobcats renew old rivalries as Buna visits on November 2nd while Bridge City hosts Orangefield in the annual Bayou Bowl series and the close to the regular season.2012 Schedule

Date Opponent Time

Aug. 31 at East Chambers 7:00 p.m.

Sept. 7 at Jasper 7:30 p.m.

Sept. 14 Newton 7:00 p.m.

Sept. 21 Beaumont Kelly 7:00 p.m.

Sept. 28 Silsbee# 7:00 p.m.

Oct. 5 at Hamshire-Fannett# 7:00 p.m.

Oct. 12 Hardin-Jefferson# 7:00 p.m.

Oct. 19 at West Orange-Stark# 7:00 p.m.

Oct. 26 OPEN

Nov. 2 Buna# 7:00 p.m.

Nov. 9 at Bridge City# 7:00 p.m.

#-District Games* Source: Texas Stadium Database - http://www.texasbob.com/stadium/stadium.php?id=875Helmets Courtesy of: http://www.txhshelmetproject.com/

Bobcatfan4life Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 I've heard it will be the same offense
