Good question........Seems like a new team pops up every other day......if I was gonna guess I would say too many    :-\

This is only my honest opinion I think there is A lot of teams that call them selfs select teams but they or nothing but leauge teams I think there is only A few real true select teams in the golden triangle area.

This is a list of teams in the area that I can think of. I'm sure I missed a few or some of these teams may not be playing anymore. If I missed your team I'm sorry for the mistake.

Pirates, what is your opinion of what a true select team is or should be? My opinion is that every girl on every team on this list works hard at getting better at softball and nothing should be taken away from anyone of them. Also, some parents and players have different wants, needs and expectations for what will work for them. Sure some teams are better than others. That happens in MLB. The Astros are in last place does that make them a minor league team?

How many of these are A teams?

Beaumont Blast 14u is a " A " ball team,  they just got back from Panama City Beach Flordia playing in the World Series 12 u "A". Also they have 2 18u teams

All of the teams in the GT Shockers organization are "A" ball teams.

Out Of Control teams are "A" ball only.  We currently have 18U, 14U, and 12U, and would entertain a 10U and 8U with the right coaching to do it.

The terms "A team" "select team" "travel team" and "Gold team" are all relative terms.....kinda like "rotational hitting" and "linear hitting"......you will never get a true answer.....or definition.

Bottom line....search til you find a team or organization that meets your kids needs and desires.
