BALL TORNADOES
2011 Record: 0-10 Overall, 0-6 District (7th Place in 24-4A)

Another new team that SETX will see from time to time in 24-4A is the Galveston Ball Tors.  However, fans of Southeast Texas will notice a very familiar name as former East Chambers boss Tony Valastro will begin his second season at the Rock.  The first season was not too kind to the Galveston native as the Tors went winless on the season.  But one season under the belt, as well as six returning starters, leaves the folks on the island a little more optimistic about 2012.

Offense: Multiple
Returning starters: 3

Three offensive starters will return for the Tor offense in 2012.  The triggerman will be junior quarterback Jujuan Whitaker (8-15, 57 yd in 2011).  He will be joined in the backfield by senior running backs Jeff Franklin and Leonard Brooks.  The Tors return a good bit of experience on the front line as seniors G'quez Lloyd, Marc Law and Kendall Davion will lead the way

2012 Defense

Defense: Multiple
Returning starters: 4

The leader amongst the four starters returning for Ball in 2012 will be 2nd team all district pick, linebacker Ario Holman.  He'll be joined at linebacker by sophomore Jordan Milburn and Tyrel Davis.  They will back a line that will feature senior lineman Derrick Decker and defensive end Tolan Avery.  Senior safety Joseph Caligone will anchor the Ball secondary and will be handling the kick return duties.

2012 Key games

For its season opener, Ball will travel just a few miles north on I-45 to take on La Marque on August 30th.  New district foe Baytown Lee will host Ball for their 24-4A district opener on September 28th.  The Tors travel to Friendswoof for the district finale on November 9th.

GB is going to improve. That program was left in shambles first by former coaching, and then hurricane Ike (due to a number of displaced players). Now, the tide will turn.

V will get that team organized and win some games this year, and even more games in the future seasons. Betcha.

BTW, niiiiice looking helmets!  ;)  LOL!
