jb Posted July 29, 2012 Report Posted July 29, 2012 http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=y1uq-29vijsI've had this documentary for a long time. Decided to put it up on YouTube because it really was and still is a great piece of work. It depicts 75 years of tradition between 1925 and 2003. Great footage and interviews. It shows as well how meaningful football is to SE Texas. Thought I would pass it along. Football is right around the corner!
PNGDAD Posted July 29, 2012 Report Posted July 29, 2012 Thanks for the film link. Not being from the area but having raised my kids at PNG it's great to know more history about the area.
purpleeagle Posted July 29, 2012 Report Posted July 29, 2012 Cannot download the video on my dial up connection, but I think you are refering through the era including the 50s when PN-G had the state championship team. My next door neighbor on Toledo Bend Lake (Toledo Village sect 11) (Winston Lafleur) was the all state guard pictured in the book 'down trails of victory" that played on that championship team.
H-D BOBCAT 55 Posted July 30, 2012 Report Posted July 30, 2012 Awesome stuff. I heard those PNG/Hull-Daisetta games were man makers back in the day!

(easy, easy...........just kidding!)[/quote]You've gotta be kidding. You don't get many chances to build a fire around here, and when you do, there's typically plenty of firewood left behind by a hurricane. ;D
Jackthehammer Posted August 1, 2012 Report Posted August 1, 2012 What a football loving community this video footage was amazing. Great video all you Indians. Be proud of that history.
