Guest ECBucFan Posted August 2, 2012 Report Posted August 2, 2012 Next up is the "Football Ferns" from New Zealand. They are a real good team, don't let their 1-2 qualifying record fool you. They only lost by a point to powerhouses Brazil and England. Game is at 8:30 AM our time Friday morning. Set your VCR's!
Guest ECBucFan Posted August 3, 2012 Report Posted August 3, 2012 Beats NZ 2-nil to advance to the Semi's. Abby Wambach scored in the 27th minuet after a beautiful assist from Alex Morgam, who threaded through the NZ defense to deliver a perfect cross just in front of the net. In the closing moments, sub Sydney Leroux added her first WNT goal for insurance at the 87th min. mark. Solo pitched another shutout. :DWambach and Carli Lloyd picked up yellows. >:(We move on to face Canada-Great Britain winner on MONDAY...

Guest ECBucFan Posted August 7, 2012 Report Posted August 7, 2012
Anybody think Canada got hosed?
NO! http://www.latimes.com/sports/olympics/olympicsnow/la-sp-on-us-canada-soccer-referee-20120807,0,2900543.storyThe Canadian coach was whining even before the game. The call was CORRECT. The Canadian raised her arm up as the ball approached, unlike USA's Meagan Rapinoe, whose arm was left straight down when she was earlier hit. BTW, I am a former Soccer Official, I know the rules.
BrenhamFan Posted August 7, 2012 Report Posted August 7, 2012
Anybody think Canada got hosed?
Heck no! I'm surprised people are making such a big deal out of this. The goalie was warned and clearly didn't take the warning seriously. Also, that was a handball in the box, otherwise would throw their arm out to trap or knock the ball down. Sore losers?
PhatMack19 Posted August 9, 2012 Report Posted August 9, 2012 USA vs Japan for the Gold on now. USA looking to get their revenge from the World Cup last year.Go USA!!
PhatMack19 Posted August 9, 2012 Report Posted August 9, 2012 Goal Japan gets them back in the game. The US defense isn't playing great and Solo cant do it by herself. 2-1 USA leads

Guest ECBucFan Posted August 10, 2012 Report Posted August 10, 2012 What a team effort! Solo played lights out, and Carli Lloyd was magnificent! I love this current team. They never seemed to get the respect the 1999 team did. Now, their legacy is secure! ;D
Guest ECBucFan Posted August 12, 2012 Report Posted August 12, 2012 "Blue collar" Carli comes through! ;Dhttp://www.nydailynews.com/sports/olympics-2012/carli-lloyd-london-jersey-girl-brings-home-gold-medal-team-usa-article-1.1133216
