Bobcatfan4life
I would rather Angelo State than Incarnate Word if they have shown any interest. Maybe they haven't. Last year's records:Football (5-6, 2-6)Men's Basketball (11-17, 4-14)Women's Basketball (13-15, 10-10)Volleyball (31-6, 17-3)Baseball (40-17, 20-8)Softball (48-11, 23-4)
NorthoftheBorder
Very nice facilities.
birdbrain78
Those are very nice facilities, but 2 of the 3 don't belong to Angelo State. The football stadium is the San Angelo ISD stadium. In the past, it merely had "SAN ANGELO" in the endzones, but it's currently being remodeled, and hearsay is that the new field will have the high school's name and colors at midfield and in the end zones. The baseball stadium belongs to the local independent league pro team. I think they lease the land it's on from the university. Think I read on a thread on the LSC board that while ASU plays there they have to change, etc., on campus because they don't have access to the locker rooms. Could be wrong about that part though. The Junell center basketball arena is theirs, and seems to be a really nice 5000 seat arena. Now that Abilene Christian is going to be an SLC member they'd make good travel partners. There is a thread on the LSC board on D2Football.com about ASU's future facilities:http://www.d2messageboard.com/showthread.php?49177-Hypothetical-Capital-Improvements-at-ASU
UNLV
I always thought Midwestern with it's 14k stadium and West Texas aNm with it's 20k would bring in the Wichita Falls and Amarillo market to the SLC.
Dick Vitale
We (Midwestern State) have been invited and have declined the invite...No disrespect, but the SLC, has ZERO appeal...Why would we leave a situation where we are getting more revenue, having a chance to win NCAA championships, to come to the Southland? What is the motivation in that? Division I? No, thanks.

They would excite the Wichita Falls area by moving up.
