State Basketball tourney could change venues????

I like it in Austin but it's getting to the point a change is needed. Had to stay in Georgetown last year. Could have goten a room at the Double Tree for $450.00 a night Guess I should have taken it...lol

Booked my room today for next year's state tourney. Lucked out and got a room at a brand new Quality Inn and Suites that opens in November. They are taking reservations right now. Got a king room for just $80 a night. Just 5 miles from the Drum!! Every other hotel I looked at was at least $199 or more a night from that close proximity. My hotel is right next door to Papasitas and Papadeaux's, across from Highland Mall.

The direct hotel number is 512-617-4900. But I called the Choice Hotels 800 number, 877-424-6423. I did not get an answer at the direct hotel number, kept ringing. They may not be taking calls at that number until later in the year when they open the hotel.

I am hoping to be broadcasting a local team (preferably Silsbee) at the state tourney this coming season. This past tourney broke a string of 5 straight years of SETXsports broadcasting a local team or teams at the state tourney.

Although I did get to enjoy this past tourney from press row the entire time. Very cool.
