also, isn't already used for the bball state tourney??

Only in the finals. It is easy for them to do that because all of the finals are played in the same venue.

Now if you would have asked should all the football state championship games have instant replay, then I might would say yes.
Im pretty sure in recent years if there was Instant Replay in the playoffs a few teams wouldnt have gotten past the 1st or 2nd round on their way to a state title. Agree to disagree.  ;)

Very silly question if you ask me.
not a silly question after you read the above article.  ;)

Like I stated (and the article as well ::)) I can see doing it in the championship games but not the entire playoffs of which your silly question is asking. ;) ::)

But you are obviously not being sensible. It is just not realistic to think you could implement instant replay in every stadium that hosts a playoff game from the 1st round to the semifinals in every classification. Who is going to pay for that kind of upgrade and who will pay the folks to run it?

You just proved my point. The "money hungry" UIL is in it to make money, not spend it.

If it were to happen, it will be the school districts having to foot the bill and not the UIL.

You obviously do not know how that works. Take it from someone who has dealt with the UIL and sponsors, it don't work that way.

The UIL gets its 15% of gross revenue off of each football playoff game.  All expenses, officials included are paid by the participating schools.  Thus the UIL has no incentive to look for sponsors for any extra expenses like replay equipment or officials.  The expenses would be completely on the competing schools.

As many football programs already have their budgets strained by the travel and expenses of playoff appearances, to saddle them with this financial burden when most school districts are cash strapped as it is would be foolish.

By the #of spectators @ Jerry Word for the finals I believe each team gets a decent % share of revenue which makes replay affordable.Bet lawyers had a field day w/replay of a unmanned golf cart running over officials, staff, coaches ;)
Like I said, to have instant replay in the championship games is fine. Those stadiums are already set up for video and Fox SW televises those games.

But to suggest that all playoff games in every classification have instant replay is ludicrous.

As a fan who rooted against Jasper during the Gilmer State Title game, YES.  I was sitting on the side lines at the endzone when Jasper scored the winning touchdown that was called just short by the refs.  I watched the ball cross the line and Jasper won that game outright, that is if they had replay.  HS refs often suck, so someone has to get it right for them.  That and it will cut-down half the saturday arguments on here.    :D  Not to mention WOS may never score another touchdown again if their receivers can't push-off the defender.  ;)
I remember that. Patton got the ball clearly in on every highlight replay they showed, have no idea how the ref missed it and he was right there at the line smh. Jasper got flat out robbed for a state title.

actually, they got robbed of tying the game.  but jasper did have the momentum by that time so it is fair to speculate that they might have gone on to win the game.  and Smoking Baby i thought you were for Jasper all the way!  :o  so that is why you would not sit with us!
