WOSgrad Posted August 4, 2012 Report Posted August 4, 2012 The UIL gets its 15% of gross revenue off of each football playoff game. All expenses, officials included are paid by the participating schools. Thus the UIL has no incentive to look for sponsors for any extra expenses like replay equipment or officials. The expenses would be completely on the competing schools. As many football programs already have their budgets strained by the travel and expenses of playoff appearances, to saddle them with this financial burden when most school districts are cash strapped as it is would be foolish.
liltex Posted August 4, 2012 Report Posted August 4, 2012 By the #of spectators @ Jerry Word for the finals I believe each team gets a decent % share of revenue which makes replay affordable.Bet lawyers had a field day w/replay of a unmanned golf cart running over officials, staff, coaches ;)

Those stadiums are already set up for video and Fox SW televises those games. But to suggest that all playoff games in every classification have instant replay is ludicrous.
olin Posted August 5, 2012 Report Posted August 5, 2012 No! It's bad enough that it has made college and pro football painful to watch don't add it to high school. Slows things down too much.
bh89-2 Posted August 6, 2012 Report Posted August 6, 2012 As a fan who rooted against Jasper during the Gilmer State Title game, YES. I was sitting on the side lines at the endzone when Jasper scored the winning touchdown that was called just short by the refs. I watched the ball cross the line and Jasper won that game outright, that is if they had replay. HS refs often suck, so someone has to get it right for them. That and it will cut-down half the saturday arguments on here. :D Not to mention WOS may never score another touchdown again if their receivers can't push-off the defender. ;)
