I watched Silsbee struggle against Newton last season and then turned around and got shut out by Bridge City. If they continue to run that BS offense, they're not going anywhere. Silsbee seem to have a Stout defensive line similar to what Kirbyville had a few years ago, but their offense sucks. You guys have a huge running back over there and not utilizing him correctly. I tell you what, send him to Kville and watch him run over folks out of the Wing T :)

And this is coming from someone who's team went 2-9 last year ::) ::)
Yes and also the struggling tigers as he say's. Played KV at the begining of the year last year.  And the Tigers total yards were nearly 500.  And KV's total yards were a whopping grand total of 45.
Let's clarify one thing, it was a scrimmage, not a game.

Not sure about the yard totals though. Hard to keep up with that sort of thing in a controlled scrimmage.

AAW, Here is what you posted from last year
You are right it was only a scrimmage

Kirbyville

rushing    34/ 15 yards
passing  3-16  30 yards

Silsbee

rushing  30/  108 yards
passing  11-20  290 yards  4 TD's

Kirbyville needs to worry about their BS offense or lack there of. ;)
Correct. I kept stats for that scrimmage but like I said, it was a controlled scrimmage and the stats were not accurate "game" type stats.

Silsbee didn't have close to 500 yards, but they did quite well in that particular scrimmage on both sides of the ball.

When is the last time Silsbee beat PNG in football? Like 1992 in the playoffs?
It's not like these two teams have played each other every year for many years, but the last time Silsbee beat PNG was 1994.

Silsbee and PNG have played each other a total of 33 times since 1925. PNG leads the all time series 25-8.

From 1925-1969 these two played a total of 15 games with PNG winning 12 of those 15. They played every year from 1936-47 except '44, with PNG going 9-2 in those games.

These two teams did not play each other for 20 years until 1988 when they were put in the same district. From '88 to present, PNG and Silsbee have played each other 18 times with PNG winning 13, Silsbee 5. These two played every year from '88 to '99, playing each other twice in the same season in the year's '92 and '99. PNG was 9-5 in those 14 games played.

These two have only played 4 times since '99 and just twice since Silsbee dropped to 3A in '04. PNG currently has a 10 game win streak over Silsbee.
My PN-G football history is a little fuzzy, but I believe the first game of PN-G (then just PN) football ever played was against Silsbee in 1925. I think PN-G won it, 7-0.
This is correct.

Anything before I was born (1938) is too old.  I've been told several times that I'm too old to post here (mostly by Vidor fans which is an automatic disregard by me) but, I just trudge on.  Guys, it's all good - and 2012 high school football is almost here. ;D

tigers in overtime should be a good one
Overtime - that's pretty dramatic.  Let's just say that it will be a good contest. 8)

Well, you can bet that if the statistical data would have
been in K-ville's favor old K-cats would have been touting it to high heavens.

Tiger voice and the rest of the Kirbyville haters, I watch Silsbee get totally dominated the year before by Kirbyville. Lefredrick Ford did what he wanted against those struggling Tigers. To be honest, I believe Kirbyville would spank Silsbee this year. I watched Kirbyville practice this morning and they have a lot of size and speed at the skill position and the new defensive coordinator have this Kirbyville team in the right direction with those formation he's running.

Not hating on Kville, but to say they would spank Silsbee is pretty dang assinine.

Lafredrick was a beast he ran over alot of teams, but you know what? He is gone and ain't coming back. Kirbyville would get killed by Silsbee this year.

Silsbee have a good qb and running back, BUT they don't run the right offense for the personal they have...unless they made some changes they outta there! Kirbyville a much better team this year that's why I said what I said.
It's easy to run your mouth when you know your not gonna play someone. Silsbee taught Kirbyville a lesson about running your mouth back when we where in the same district several years ago. Learn a lesson!

Yes they did but it was the first time and only time is school history on a 2 point conversion, but how many times has Silsbee won at K-ville and at Silsbee hmm lets count.
Kirbyville would get blasted by Silsbee this year. I kind of agree about the offense. Silsbee should move away from the spread and go with a traditional pro set offense. It's the coaches decision though.

I just saw where Carl Padilla of the Padilla Poll tweeted that he is lining up some games for next season and one of those games has PNG playing Stephenville. If that's the case, who would Silsbee play? I thought these games were 2 year home and home contracts.

Would PNG be willing to give up a home game next season and in the process leave Silsbee out to dry looking for an opponent for week 0?

That has to be a mistake. Last I heard, Faircloth was trying to keep the preseason games nearby to cut down on travel costs. Summer Creek was supposedly a stretch. I have no idea how Stephenville would fit into that.

Badsanta, no they wouldn't. Again Silsbee Have no good offensive scheme so how would they blow a quality team out?? You guys have a lot returning but a team with an average defense would cause a lot of problems for y'all. I'm not a Silsbee fan, but I was pissed to see y'all lose to BC the way y'all did. Why in the heck would you run the spread at the 1 yard line when you got a huge running back to push it in?? I don't understand that!

Coaches make calls that we all sometimes don't understand ,wo-s called a reverse out of the spread on the 1 yard line against giddins a play that cost them that 3rd round playoff game and then wo-s called a fake punt against west Columbia a few years ago on wo-s own 4yard line on a 4th and 9 point is we know that we have the talent to go far and be a good football team but we are not the coaches and we have to live with their decisions it may not be right but what can we do about it.

I don't see us playing Stephensville and backing out of having silsbee at home it makes no sense to me. If the coach is trying to schedule more local games then why would he set up a scrimmage with texas city this year when we had memorial 5 minutes away and who by far is a much better team than texas city. Makes no sense if you ask me but it is what it is. I myself liked the idea of playing memorial, it is close by for both sides and it is also a old rivalry!  Hell we got wos and silsbee back why not schedule memorial????

I suspect this will be closer than most are expecting.  I agree with Jackthehammer and think the NDN's will wear down Silsbee in the 2nd half and come out with a win.
PN-G 21  Silsbee 17
