Neither Ozen or Vidor were "weak" last year as evidenced by the fact that both made round 3 of the playoffs, but as for your assertion that Nederland is overrated, I would have to disagree...Nederland, too went 3 rounds deep, beat both Vidor and Ozen and has as much or more returning...now that guarantees absolutley nothing for this season, but it is the best information we all have to go on until the season starts.

Keep in mind that Vidor and Ozen's success last season doesn't guarantee either of them anything for this season...you have to play the games, boys

That would be a real accomplishment badsanta as the schedule is brutal...no cupcakes pre-district (or even scrimmages for that matter) and the district will once again be tough this season...Nederland has the potential to be very good this season, but potential doesn't win you any games...I have said it before, you need to be good AND you need to have the breaks go your way to have a great season...the pieces are in place, the kids just need to stay focused on the task at hand and hopefully avoid the dreaded injury bug

Bay City was 2000, I believe but that was the regional finals and probably Nederland's most talented team in recent history...Bay City went on to run the table without much challenge the next 2 games...the 2001 season was the year Nederland went to the semis and lost to Smithson Valley...that was a heck of an accomplishment because Nederland lost so much talent from the previous year and was expected to do so little yet parlayed that season into one heck of a run
