I was wondering if someone from PNG could could clear up the QB talk? I'm only asking because I don't know. I've heard from from people that he is not that tall, not that fast and doesn't throw that well, and one poster said he was 6'5'' or 6'6'' and ran a 4.5 40 and has a cannon for an arm, all these comments came from PNG people. I also heard he has already been offered a scholarship to Lamar, not sure if it was to play QB or as an athlete. I know he hasn't played a game yet, so nobody knows how well he will do, jsut wondering about the basics, is he tall, does he run well, is he some what accurate?

A.J. Smith is 6'5" with a pretty good arm and decent wheels for his size. 4.5 I doubt, but not 5.0 either. What has yet to be determined is his presence in the pocket. Stared down wr in the spring game and showed marginal accuracy, but I know he has worked his tail off over the summer. Yes Lamar has offered so they see potential.
There is a Sophomore that has folks excited named Ky Walker as well. He looked good in Spring. Quick on his feet and accurate. Much shorter maybe 5'10".

Thanks for the info, sounds like tools are there, with Fairclothes ability to develope QB's he may prove to be another solid Indian QB for ya'll this year, good luck this year, and for what it's worth I think yall make playoff's once again.

Yes he is as tall and as quick as advertised! But I think ispeak like everyone else he is working hard to get better, the spring game his second pass was a pick 6.  He settled down later on and didn't look that bad. Heard he ran a 4.4 at one of the camps this year. But I don't look for him to be the runner that Miller was, but he will just have to be AJ and do what AJ does.  Until now he is. Unproven but with hard work and a great coach I think he will do just fine. And yes the young QB is looking to be a good one also. Hopefully we will make the playoffs again, can't wait to find out.
