Silsbee scored 4 times and Newton scored 0 times. On Newton first offensive series they got a couple of first downs, twenty yards. On Silsbee's first offensive series they drove 65 yards on 7 or 8 plays and scored.

I know its early, but Newton did not look like the #4 team in 2A. Silsbee has a lot of work to do, but this did not look like a Newton team we normally see.

[/quote]Silsbee defence and offense were both looking good for first scrimmage. And yes i agree with you about newton. I hope it was Silsbee that just made them look that way. Time will tell. Big test coming the first game.

This was a controlled scrimmage entirely. Each 1st team offense ran 12 consecutive plays twice. 2nd team offense ran 12 plays first time and then just 10 plays second time.


Statistically, you can see who had the better scrimmage. Silsbee virtually dominated this scrimmage on both sides of the ball.

Either Silsbee is much better than I expected them to be or Newton may be overrated.

Maybe Silsbee is just that good. If their D is on point right now then i wouldnt put too much stock in Newton being overrated IMO

Newton always looks soft in Scrimmages , they have little dept being the main reason.
