20FAN07 Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 All the games monday night were very close. Good win for silsbee.
Guest tigersvoice Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 It was a VERY good game. The Lady Horns can put a lot of speed on the floor and they ran well against the Lady Tigers. For the Lady Horns Memri Carmon is the real deal and I understand that Rice University wants her and she wants to go there. To the credit of the Lady Horns coach, she has seen how Silsbee can break the press and then convert a lot of easy baskets. Coach Downs used a zone press in the back court and Silsbee had some trouble with it. Early on, Silsbee had several over and back violations and threw the ball away a lot. Both are indications of feeling the defensive pressure. On the Silsbee side, they had an inordinate number of "Under the basket rim-outs." The most that I ever recall seeing by one team in a game. Again, an indication of defensive pressure; hurrying the shot, etc. just enough to miss. The Lady Horns are not going quietly into the night.
