Anyone heard of dove populations throughout the state? Dove season opens Sept 1, as it always does. And does anyone know of a good dove lease in SE Texas?

A good one? No, but there is land available to hunt through the Public Hunting System.
Annual Public Hunting Permit (APH) is $48 and there is a good bit of land available to hunt in Jefferson County. The new map is out.

By the way, I have heard good reports that there are lots of birds in North and Central Texas. As of about 3 weeks ago so hopefully they have made their way down here. Some local people have reported good numbers of birds in the Dayton area. It should be a good season.
