takemeouttotheballgame Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 Just heard the tail end of the Silsbee/HF game..... WAY TO GO LADY TIGERS!!! Rolling through the district like a freight train!!! woo woo
Guest bleed orange Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 Yes the lady tigers are good but they are not rolling through the district like a freight train. So far it has been a battle every night for all teams.
takemeouttotheballgame Posted December 20, 2006 Author Report Posted December 20, 2006 Aww come on.... waah waah waah.... I was just celebrating Silsbee's win(s)!!! I go to all their games, and I see EVERY battle... so I don't need to be informed about that , THANK YOU very much! Don't be a hater. Just smile and say "Congratulations Lady Tigers
Guest bleed orange Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 I am not a hater, matter of fact I talked too and met Miss Green and plan on meeting Miss Fowler at the game in silsbee. Both are great girls. So don't sit there and tell me I am a hater. Why don't you asked both of them If I am? I was merely stating a fact that there is a lot of competitive games so far this year. No real blow outs, well maybe one or two. So that being said, "running over like a freight train" is not a term that should of been used. More like, "the lady tiger are 3-0 in district" keep up the good work. But hey I guess you are entitled to use any term you want to.
takemeouttotheballgame Posted December 21, 2006 Author Report Posted December 21, 2006 Yep, that's right, I CAN use any term I like.... and I repeat... The Lady Tigers are rolling through the district like a freight train....flying from town to town picking up wins along the way.... and NOTHING about saying that should be misunderstood as an insult to any other team. Since when did it become a crime to be excited about and complimentary toward the team of your choice??
takemeouttotheballgame Posted December 21, 2006 Author Report Posted December 21, 2006 Sidenote: I DID NOT say they were running over anybody like a freight train.... read my first post..... what I said was "rolling through the district like a freight train"
Guest bleed orange Posted December 22, 2006 Report Posted December 22, 2006 I stand corrected. Words are misread on here all the time. But rolling and running are kind of the samething. Both are a moving object. The waah waah waah coment struck a nerve. Most of the silsbee posters have been awesome to Orangefield. The verdict is still out on you!
stang4life Posted December 22, 2006 Report Posted December 22, 2006 When reading the initial post...I gather the same conclusion. :? When teams are said to be ROLLING THROUGH DISTRICT...it would seem to indicate that they are easily beating every team (which is not true). [That would be like saying that WO-S' football team rolled through district, which is not true...we had to fight our wins. Yep, even against Silsbee!!! ] Honey, you guys had to WORK for the win tonight (in fact, it took two overtimes)...that is hardly a rollover win. A hard-fought win, but no roll-over win. Congrats to the lady tigers on their current record...keep up the good work. Lady Mustangs...tweak rebounding and easy shots (and free throws) and we should be fine. That is what district is for...to get better every game.
takemeouttotheballgame Posted December 22, 2006 Author Report Posted December 22, 2006 okay... sorry you guys misunderstood me before. Again, it wasn't meant the way you took it and rolling through and running over are two TOTALLY different visuals for me. Anyway, no one is disputing that the Lady Tigers are having to battle every game. This district is so exciting to watch. Last night we definitely got our money's worth - and neither team gave up until the FINAL final buzzer. I don't think the Lady Tigers take anyone for granted and they know they are in for a fight every time they step on the court.
Guest bleed orange Posted December 22, 2006 Report Posted December 22, 2006 Its all good. You probably misunderstood some of the things I was writing. It happens alot on here. My post were not intended to say anything bad about Silsbee. I have the upmost respect for the players and the community.
takemeouttotheballgame Posted December 23, 2006 Author Report Posted December 23, 2006 Thanks... apologies for the waah waah.
Guest bleed orange Posted December 23, 2006 Report Posted December 23, 2006 No apology needed, have a Merry Christmas.
GLBEmbassador Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 While I appreciate everyone celebrating our Silsbee Team, I am wondering if anyone has even noticed the wonderful players sitting the bench. Two Seniors, a junior & a sophomore are being wasted sitting the bench. I have watched these girls storm through season after season since they began playing basketball. The seniors sitting the bench PERIOD is sad! The awesome talents that these girls have are being degraded week after week as the new Silsbee coach continually sits them out. If less of the players who miss shot after shot were sat on the bench more, we might SEE a blow out game a lot easier! It amazes me how many shots were missed at the WOS game - if we made 1/2 of them there would not have been a double overtime to talk about - in fact, one player, and we all know who, missed a total of 52 points all by herself!!!!bgphoto.org has a great photo of the "Benchwarmers" as they have become known to be called - I commend these girls for supporting their TEAM and getting excited with them without being able to show their talents! I hope we get to see more of you in the upcoming 2007 games!!! We love you girls! ALL 4 of you!To the SENIORS - Keep your heads HIGH - YOU ARE the BEST - this is YOUR YEAR - I hope more fans stand up for you and support your playing!!! You deserve to drive your PASSION during your Senior Year!!GOOOO LADY TIGERS!!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!First of all, I would like to say keep up the good work lady tigers. On another note, GBBMom, the whining that you are doing on here is a down right disgrace. This is not the place to do this. I am a huge fan of this Silsbee team, and I have been to numerous amounts of their games. I know of the ladies of which you speak that ride the bench, or so called,"benchwarmers". They are respectable young ladies but you must not be grasping the reality here. Everyone will not play, every game, and every player's talents are not up to par with the next players. Tell them to pick up a basketball more and work at getting better, to EARN their playtime just like the players that play alot of minutes do. Talent is talent, Freshman, Sophmore, Junior, or Senior, class rank isn't a big deal. Speaking of degrading, you are degrading the coaching skills of Coach Killam, who happens to be a great coach, AND also the skills of a great player. I have a general idea of whom you speak and myself and others find that statement to be OUTRAGEOUS. To her, I say keep up the good work, also not forgeting about the entire team. THe WOS game was great, maybe double OT could have been avoided, but guess what; NOONE is mistake free. Things happen and decisions are made, so what, DEAL WITH IT. You are not giving a good impression of the parents of the Lady Tigers, who majorily aren't WHINERS, despite few like GBBMom. Your post was utterly disrespectful. With all due respect, Grow up and live with it. Hating won't make YOU great. Speaking in behave of all the proud Lady Tiger parents, we love you, all of you, not just 4! Let's go LAdy Tigers! Happy NEw Year..& i know who you are GBBMom 8)
mactiger Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 We need to keep our team as ONE, not divide them. Every player on the team plays a part in the success of the Lady Tigers. Even players who don't contribute very many minutes on the court play a crucial role in getting the team ready during everyday practices. Let's continue to support all of the Lady Tigers for all of their efforts.
Guest bleed orange Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 I agree mactiger, That was a good post. I wish my quote would not have been used in this because it has nothing to do with the current topic which should have not been started. Don't worry about the girls they will stay focus. In certain cases parents need to stay out and let the kids figure things out on their own and they will, if parents let them. Believe me this happens at all schools, in every sport and at every level. This subect was about praising the lady tigers, lets keep it that way. Remember these kids get on here and read this. I only write this because I have been there with my child. But you know what it did not effect her, she kept on playing just like she always has. I hope someone is listening to me and remember what I said.
GBBMom Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 :-[OK! First of all, I want to say that I in NO WAY meant to stir a pot here! There sure are a lot of defensive remarks going on here and for that I am woman enough to apologize if I offended anyone. I never meant my post to read in such a negative way. After re-reading it I do apologize for getting upset about all the missed points. I know everyone has bad nights – it is just upsetting sometimes when you know that there is other talents not being used when someone obviously might need a break!I admire all of the Lady Tigers for their talents and the remarkable way that they use them! I also admire ALL of the Lady Tiger Parents for raising such awesome Team spirited kids! The point I was trying make is that ALL of the lady tigers are great! I feel that ALL of them have worked very hard and deserve to play - regardless of their grade as well! After all, the coaches know that they all practice DAILY - and the parents know whether their child practices away from practice or not! I know that not every child will play every game – I went through that with my son - and as a child myself - believe me, I of all people know how the girls I spoke of feel first hand!I never said that they SHOULD play every game. However, how can someone make the comment that these girls should pick up a basketball other than practice when they have no idea how many times these girls do practice away from school???? ::)That comment WAS totally uncalled for as well!! I know 3 of them that play often away from school! It was my impression that this is a public forum - we may agree to disagree - or not - however, we all know that there are some that will get defensive regardless.Coach Killiam is the most awesome Christian coach! I appreciate the prayer and love of GOD that has been brought to the court and Silsbee Schools. NEVER would I degrade his coaching abilities. Maybe by reading my post with a peaceful heart instead of a defensive heart will give you a better impression of him - I in no way wrote it with anger, hate or malice! I was just voicing an opinion of a few people suggesting that these other girls have the opportunity to prove themselves worthy of playing too. I sincerely hope that my posting doesn’t sit them the rest of the season! I would feel horrible about that!In my first post, I simply made an observation and chose to speak up about it - since a lot of parents, fans and even administrators spoke of this same subject often in the past few weeks and especially Thursday night, yet obviously feared the reprocutions of speaking out. The feelings I have are shared by many yet spoken by few online or in a public setting. I again apologize for the “mis-reading†of my previous post. Every one of the lady tigers deserve recognition! THEY ARE A TEAM – and TOGETHER EVERYONE ACHEIVES MIRACLES when given the opportunity!!!! I think all of the fans and parents and coaches would be happily surprised!! I believe in all of the Lady Tigers! KEEP UP THE GREAT ATTITUDE!These girls ARE focused on winning not only DISTRICT but STATE and will play their hearts out throughout this season to get there! Silsbee Lady Tigers deserve much love and recognition for their talents! ALL OF THEM!Again I apologize to those that were offended… :-[I will guard my comments from now on!May God Bless your hearts with Peace! Happy New Year!GOOD LUCK TO OUR LADY TIGERS AT THE BARBERS HILL TOURNAMENT THIS WEEKEND!!!!!!
Guest bleed orange Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 Your heart is true, I cant tell by your last post. People misread things on here all the time. Thats just the way it is. Your first post may not have been in anger but thats the way I percieved it and so did others. There is nothing wrong with giving an opinion, I think that is awesome. You just have to be careful. I don't dislike you because of what you wrote. I think it was brave, because many people feel the same way. But not me. But to write what you did on the second post told me that you are a pretty good person. Don't worry you are not judged about what you write on this message board. Because no one knows who you are, But atleast you came on here and and responed again, I respect that. You are a good person! Lets forget about all this and play some basketball!!!!!!!!! See you guys at Barbers Hill.
GLBEmbassador Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 Well, thank you for clarifying that GBBMom. I was only calling it like I see it though, as I saw several unessesary, irrelevant comments. I too apologize for any offensive remark that I may have made. Hopefully, we're all on the same page now, and cut out some of the negativity. We all want to see this team go far, so lets back the TEAM 100%. Go Lady Tigers! 8)Nice post Bleed Orange
GBBMom Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 :-*Thank you all! I appreciate your acceptance!I am sorry my last post was so long - I just wanted to clarify that I am truly FOR all the Lady Tigers! I've watched them grow into WONDERFUL YOUNG LADIES!!!! Thanks again!See you in Barbers Hill!
