Do most schools allow their best players to play both ways?

Seems to me you would have to do this to get your best talent on the field, curious what others think. In Baytown one HS plays their starting QB also at starting LB while another refuses to let his best players play both ways. I cant understand why you would do that when you dont have enough talent to begin with. Obviously I am talking about Sterling, the same school that the paper said had 100 kids come out for football as a 5a while 4a BH had 165 lol!

That is  true but GOD forbid he gets hurt then coach has to fill 2 spots. Also there is  alot of wear and tear on a young mans body. Hey put the best team on the field but a good coach can develope a  good player into a great player.

Reminds me of a QB in the NFL.

Stats and record looks great on paper but just can't seem to win the big game lately.  8)

I would say 3A and under play more players both ways, 4A and 5A, not so much.  That being said, Montana Quirante starts at QB and LB for Vidor  and JonBoy Smith starts at tight end and defensive line.  I think a couple more do as well.

We played Aledo in the championship 3 years ago.  3 semi finals in the last decade, winning 2 of them.

No doubt, we have had the talent and should have done more, but I wouldn't call it nothing.
