The Real Rivalries!

La Porte and Port Arthur Memorial is becoming a good Football rivalry.  I'm sure Port Arthur and North Shore has some pace to become a football rivalry.  All three (if the UIL doesn't fudge it up) are competing for disttrict crown.  La Porte has been in district several times with NS so we are no strangers. A few more victories for LP against NS can make things very interesting.
IMO Memorial rival is North Shore. Memorial has to prove it can beat LP during the regular season now and get that monkey off its back finally. Even with the playoff win by Memorial last year (which is worth more than a regular season victory) LP still dominates the series, not even close.
It would take a monumental dumb move by the UIL to break our district apart, unless they make a 6A in which thats not going to happen for awhile, but you never know with those guys, money talks and.....You know the rest.  ;)

The Port Arthur Memorial/North shore series is 3-2 North Shore lead. They first met in 08 when they were put in the same district. Here's the scores of the 5 Meetings between them:
2008: NS 66, PAM 7
2009: PAM 7, NS 6 (PAM broke NS 52 District Winning streak in the "Mud Bowl")
2010: NS 35, PAM 28 (NS last minute td almost OT)
2011: PAM 14, NS 7
2012: NS 31, PAM 24

District 21-5A is one of the toughest in the state as North Shore, La Porte, and PAM are always racing for the crown which La Porte has one the past 2 years by beating PAM by only 4 points both years in the last minutes. These 3 teams usually make it at least to the Regional Finals.
