jimmyw Posted August 28, 2012 Report Posted August 28, 2012 they have good athletes and a good coaching staff so they need the luck to go with it and be fairly injury free. I hope they make it to the title game, just not this year if we can make it. I do think it will be sooner than some people think.jmo
finger roll Posted August 31, 2012 Report Posted August 31, 2012 Andy Evans started it all (winning in football) and set the bar at EC usually winning district and making it to round 3. Stan and Tony V. kept EC on track. In comes Coach Sutherland and I mean to tell you he is going to take us to the next step (deeper in the playoffs). He isn't just coaching Varsity football, he has his finger print on the whole program. I'm very impressed with his dedication to all of the teams from Vasity to JV to Freshman to 7th and 8th grades. It doesn't matter if its Varsity or a Jr. High B team, Coach Sutherland and his entire staff is putting in the time and coaching the kids up. Its all business at EC now. There is a lot of talent coming up in Winnie to insert into "The Program".

Guest ECBucFan Posted August 31, 2012 Report Posted August 31, 2012 Along with the great interest he shows in the Jr. high/Fresh/JV development, he cares about the all EC girls programs, too. And you could not find a better role model and positive influence for the kids than Russ is. Thats the most important thing of all.
88Warrior Posted August 31, 2012 Report Posted August 31, 2012 I think with the program they have built, the athletes they turn out and the coaches they hire that EC can and will one day make it to the title game....
BucFan Posted August 31, 2012 Report Posted August 31, 2012
No ! EC will never when a title .
I know you didn't have Mr. Perryman...it is WIN!!! Sad to say Lumberton probably won't win one either, but I do know one thing, EC will win one way before L-Town.

Newton gonna get it handed to them this year.
I bet EC would beat Cleveland
Speedkills Posted August 31, 2012 Report Posted August 31, 2012 I would like to say some of the post by certain kirbyville fans are not what all kirbyville fans think like and say. And on behalf of this particular question I would like to say that East Chambers has been nothing but improving over the last 10 or so years and I believe one day they will reach the title game and win it!

EC will have a new addition this week. Cody Casey who was a starting linebacker as a sophomore at Pearland Dawson last year, will be at EC to begin his junior year. Cody is a 6ft 3in 225 lb beast. We certainly welcome him to our team and hope he has a great season with us. He will see his first action against HF in two weeks.

finger roll Posted September 3, 2012 Report Posted September 3, 2012 Glad to get him! How did that come about?
justsaying Posted September 3, 2012 Report Posted September 3, 2012 Recruiting budget better than kirbyville's. Actually, family issues bring him here. He really is a good kid. In fact, they all are. He has a younger brother and sister here as well.
finger roll Posted September 3, 2012 Report Posted September 3, 2012 Well we are glad to have him. Looks like he was slotted as Pre-Season 2nd Team All-State at LB for this year in 4A.... Not bad. Can't wait to see him play.
bruno994 Posted September 4, 2012 Report Posted September 4, 2012 Obviously 'State' is nearly everyones goal at the beginning of a season, but for most just simply making the postseason is a big accomplishment. Realistically, is EC a 'State' contender? With the Casey addition and Roberts returning, they have an inside track to another district title, but 'State'? I think that as stated earlier, luck plays as big a part as talent does, of course, you have to have the talent to get the chance to have luck play it's part. EC has talent, but 'State' talent?
