not looking good for towns south of New Orleans. Heard levees are being breached, again.

I was watching the news about twenty minutes ago and they said there had been no reports of a breach.

Not surprising. But I can't say I blame them. I'd be a little gun-shy too.

[/quote]i guess it was an over-reaction after all, they had to rescue some people from there this morning. Guess the guy knew what he was talking bout. wasnt a breach but the water still over-topped the levee.

I was born in Port Sulphur, and alot of my family still lives in Buras. Most evacuated, but some of those dang crazy cajuns stayed behind. The East Bank is the one that has high water, but from what I'm being told West Bank is holding. My sister in laws dad stayed in Buras. That area floods every time. hey have no protection. Crazy.

I can promise you that the folks in Plaquemines Parish are some of the toughest cajuns you will meet. They get pounded by storms all of the time. They are super nice people down there, just don't piss them off. ;) New Orleans got all of the hype during Katrina, but Plaquemines took a direct hit and whiped out the Parish. They've rebuilt over the years, but this is going to set them back a bit.

I sure hope the hurricane doesn't destroy too many New Orleans restaurants. ;D

Hopefully there won't be much damage overall. I think the people of Southeast Louisiana have dealt with enough since Katrina.
