But I can't say I blame them. I'd be a little gun-shy too.

Guess the guy knew what he was talking bout. wasnt a breach but the water still over-topped the levee.

I was planning a redfishing trip down there in March. Prayers for them.

Most evacuated, but some of those dang crazy cajuns stayed behind. The East Bank is the one that has high water, but from what I'm being told West Bank is holding. My sister in laws dad stayed in Buras. That area floods every time. hey have no protection. Crazy.
NDNation Posted August 29, 2012 Report Posted August 29, 2012 I have an Aunt that lives in Grand Isle...not evacuating. Cant talk sense into some people.
TradinUp BH Posted August 29, 2012 Report Posted August 29, 2012 I can promise you that the folks in Plaquemines Parish are some of the toughest cajuns you will meet. They get pounded by storms all of the time. They are super nice people down there, just don't piss them off. ;) New Orleans got all of the hype during Katrina, but Plaquemines took a direct hit and whiped out the Parish. They've rebuilt over the years, but this is going to set them back a bit.
PN-G bamatex Posted August 29, 2012 Report Posted August 29, 2012 I sure hope the hurricane doesn't destroy too many New Orleans restaurants. ;DHopefully there won't be much damage overall. I think the people of Southeast Louisiana have dealt with enough since Katrina.

NDNation Posted August 29, 2012 Report Posted August 29, 2012 Winds are already picking up outside...Accuweather said it has made landfall twice and is stalling...moving very slow.
