chevy13 Posted August 27, 2012 Report Posted August 27, 2012 Heard of a situation and would like to hear opinions on it.Situation:One team has won the football game with less than a minute to go. No way the opposing team can come back so the winning team is going to take a knee. The loosing teams coach calls a time out. Then tells his kids to hit the quarterback before he has a chance to kneel the ball.My Opinion:I don't think that type of coaching should be allowed with any age group or any league and that coach needs to reconsider why he is coaching and should not be allowed to attempt to influence young minds. Kids these days need positive role models and positive influences and need to learn how to win, and how to lose. Anyone can win with a good attitude, to lose and be able to be a good sport and remain positive takes character and thats what youth sports should be about building.
CowboysNIndians Posted August 27, 2012 Report Posted August 27, 2012 I think I was at that game, heard something about calling a time out when the other team had just taken a knee on the previous play. Didn't hear about calling for a hit. Bad decision on coaches part. In their defense, these are NOT paid professionals who have the training to stay out of their own way.
football04 Posted August 27, 2012 Report Posted August 27, 2012 Bad move by the coach. On the other hand I'm assuming that if you won the game you can protect your QB long enough for him to take a knee.
SmashMouth Posted August 27, 2012 Report Posted August 27, 2012 Not a good call by the losing coach...but it's heresay. Let's treat this as a hypothetical situation unless rock-solid proof proves otherwise.
DeuceSixSuited Posted August 28, 2012 Report Posted August 28, 2012 bad decision by the coach, because they got scored on the next play lol
youthinkyouknow Posted September 8, 2012 Report Posted September 8, 2012 Bad decision, bad coaching, bad example to the kids. Ugh...adults.
