KFDM COOP Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 Left-hander has seizure 10 days after brain surgery COLUMBUS, Ga. -- The star pitcher of the Little League World Series champions was hospitalized for a seizure that occurred 10 days after brain surgery. Kyle Carter, who President Bush sought out by asking "Where's the left-hander?" after he led his Columbus, Ga., team to victory, had a seizure early Monday while spending the night at a teammate's house. Kyle was feeling better later Monday, his father, Richard Carter, said in Tuesday editions of the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer. He expects Kyle to be released in a few days. Bush sought Kyle out when he met the team on an air strip at Dobbins Air Reserve Base a few days after the 2-1 win over Kawaguchi City, Japan. The seventh-grader underwent emergency surgery Dec. 8 to replace his shunt, a device inserted into his head when he was an infant to alleviate arterial blockage and pressure. The tube broke when Kyle collided with a teammate during basketball practice at Midland Middle School. Richard Carter said an MRI and a CAT scan show no complications from the surgery, but doctors are unsure what caused the seizure. Copyright 2006 by The Associated Press
