gotta leave the starters in against kv to get the starters ready for wos!!  ;D 

dogs may not yet be "back" but they have made tremendous progress.  OF fans rightfully can be proud of their three wins over Jasper in the past.  But that does not change the fact that Jasper was 2 and 8 for two of those years.  not very good by Jasper standards.  they lost to most everyone those two years.  but now, Barbay seems to have them playing defense again.  that can make Jasper into a rather formidable opponent.

[/quote] Actually jasper was 8-2 beckham 1st year. His 2nd year they were 2-8. With freshman all over the field on defense. But we did get wipped that's the past. We talking about now 1 game at a time

Jasper is better than they have been in previous years. How good are they? That remains to be seen, they beat two  0-2 teams so far. I guess to answer to your question is "NO" at this point and time Orangefield is not very good and Jasper is not WOS good yet.

Coach Morgan definitely scheduled some cream puffs...with that being said I would like to see coach barbay bring back the newton game along with coldspring. We need more WOS type games to get us ready for the post season.

[/quote] Wow and Jasper have a tough schedule! Cmon man! Like i said earlier, next week gets tough and the week after gets even tougher for Jasper. Kirbyville is no slouch and if you think your coach gonna be pulling the starters early then you in for a rude of awakening. This should be another great match up just like last season...good luck!

I'm gonna eat crow and tell you that I was shocked at the difference between this years Jasper team and last year.  There is a drastic difference.  I'm proud of our boys, they didn't get too down, and kept playing in the second half.  I'll have to say that is THE worst group of officials I've ever seen, although they were bad all the way around and had zero to do with the outcome.  Good luck to you guys, and I hope that your announcer has lost his voice next time we come to visit ya'll!!  :)

Thank you for coming back!  Wondered where you were!  ;D

I am still waiting further proof that Jasper is really back, but it is looking better for them each week.  The games with KV and WOS will tell the tale.  In the first scrimmage, against 4a Marshall, Jasper dominated.  Not my words, Marshall fans words.  Nacogdoches fans might argue this, but in my opinion Jasper also dominated 4a Nacogdoches in that scrimmage.  For sure they did in the one "live" quarter 14-0.  You know how the games with Liberty and OF turned out.

Good luck to OF in the remainder of the season.  You should be competing for one of the playoff spots in district.

My comments before were based off of what I have witnessed with Jasper teams in the last several years.  Guess that goes to show you what a difference a year can make! OF is young, and will get better as the year moves along.  They are trying to fill some holes that were left and it showed! I thnk everyone that knew anything about the schedule understood the first 4 games were gonna be a fight a battle.  We could very well be 0-4 going into district and still fight for a playoff spot.
