WO-S @ Central

You will not beat WOS through the air! They are vulnerable if you can spread em out and pound it at em, but you gotta be patient and keep working the ground game. I thought we would have faired much better had we taken that approach. At least we could have kept it low scoring and close enough to have a shot.

Excellent point.

I dont know badndn. We got through the middle a couple of times, but the linebackers started sniffing it out and shut us down. PNG was fortunate to be able to score twice on the Mustang defense. The WOS offense could have easily scored half-a-hundred. This weeks game wont be a shutout, but Soulja will go home unhappy. Mustangs by 20.

trust me you guys have not played a team more athletic then THIS YEARS WO-S team especially not on defense.. You will see friday night these kids are on another level this year.. 6 D-1 ball players on defense.
6 D-1 players means nothing.  PN-G scored twice on that.  Also, BTW, Memorial is (and I'll say it again) is more athletic accross the board than WO-S and is much bigger than you.  You guys just put your best athletes on defense.
Ok, so you guys shut out a never really competitive LC-M team and beat an unatheletic PN-G team.  Pretty good for a 3A team but I'd put my money on PA-M having the best defense around here.  You'll may have some of the same speed but no comparison when it comes to their size.  And playing 2 5A schools has us right where we need to be , ready for you'll and district.

You'll will not go 3-0 against 20-4A this year...
Central 27
WO-S 21

I think this will be you'll first time visiting "The Butch"as a school.  Hope you enjoy...
Ask them what happened the last time they played us or how their last stay in this local 4a district went... 8)
Ask them(central ) what's there overall record against
WOS ....Hmmmm ,

The last-time WO-S played central was in 2006 when Brandon Williams (A&M commit was at QB) and WO-S beat them to the tune of 28-14 or 35-14, either way WO-S beat Central who later that year went 3 rounds deep in the playoffs that year.. WO-S went to the state Semi Finals that year, this years team isnt as talented on offense as that 2006 team was, but this Defense is better by leaps and bounds...

Its a reason why Beaumnt schools and PA took WO-S off the schedule nobody wants to be the big school that loses over and over to a little 3A school. lol

And when we played Vidor the official score was 14-7.. Vidor will kill Central
Living vicariusly through Vidor, I see.  Truth of the matter is that Vidor man handled you in that scrimmage.  Btw, there is no recored scores in a scrimmage.  Us?  We'll deal with Vidor when the time comes.
Yall beat us in 2006?  If that's true, that was an amazing feat since we were loaded with talent that year.  We took you off the schedule bebecause we were scared?  THAT'S funny.  You didn't really prove much when you were in our district, where you played 2 beaumont schools every year, whereas, those Beaumont teams were making the playoffs, the big bad Stangs were at home both years.  Smh.

Port Arthur?  I can't speak for them, but im sure thos guys arn't worried about a team that thrives on living in the glory years from 2 decades ago... :o

Stangs too much it will get ugly WOS would run thru district 204a
Didn't WO-S scrimmage Vidor, a 20-4a team?  Did that get 'ugly'.  I heard it did...  But not in your favor.  Hmmmm.  Run through? I think not.  Now that I'm thinking, did you 'run through' Nederland last year?  I believe their a member of the same district you you would 'run through'.  ...and trust me, you wouldnt want to see them this year...
Vidor was not ugly....in fact it was very close. You ARE NOT Vidor, not even close.  As far as Nederland last year, if the refs happen to catch the guy going down at the one, we would have beat Nederland. You ARE NOT Nederland. Looking forward to making the "butch" empty out early. Should be a great game.

Then why did you bring up your point if you can't defend it the other way around. Your not running for political office are you? :)

Fact is any team is capable of beating another team on any given day. WO-S ALWAYS gets the best effort from everyone because of who we are and our past. To most teams a victory over us means a lot more than a victory over Central. We will have to come out and play well to beat you, but I do expect that to happen. That's why we are fans, to root our teams on to victory.

    • I'm not sure who you are Separation Scientist, but you and I are on the same page entirely.  BH has not played tough, physical football for 4 full quarters in years (before the Gage hiring).  I feel it has 99% to do with how we work in the offseason.  I know we lift weights and spend a great deal of time lifting those weights and doing footwork drills, etc., ......but are we hurting and learning to fight through the pain and get to that next level and continue on?  I firmly believe in quality over quantity.  Do the coaches work the kids until exhaustion and then continue pushing them?  I know the answer.... they do not!  We practice in an indoor air conditioned taj mahal even when the weather is great.  It is much different than what the BH offseason program was in the nineties and early 2000s....and the programs of Katy and PNG of today.  We worked through multiple agility, plyo, mat drills, bleachers, hill training, weight training circuits until we were puking and after we finished non-stop motion for 50 minutes all groups would meet on the track to run a quarter for time.  If you didn't make the time you had to run it again.  We did this every day and would routinely test strength and speed (included a mile run for time...which hasn't happened at BH in years...yes, big boys can run a mile) ....and 90% of all athletes would improve in both strength and speed throughout the offseason.  This all took place in 4th period of the school day, and it got results.  We didn't have any big, sloppy dudes because they couldn't make it through the offseason (they lost weight and became hosses.... or quit) and our numbers were streamlined to only include those that really wanted to be there and put in the work.  One thing that didn't happen is we didn't have kids lay out injured on the field.  I do not remember many, if any, ever getting hurt or missing a game.  I contribute that to how we worked in the offseason.  Until we get the program back to this way of thinking and working, we will continue to be mediocre.  We have twice the athletes and numbers today than we did then so it would be fun to see the results.  It can be done.  Not sure it will be done.

    • West Fork will try to run it mostly.  They will likely drain the play clock every snap and try and limit the PNG possessions.  Their opening drive against Huntsville was over 6 minutes. They may find the end zone once or twice.  They are playing hard.  Good game to get the backups experience.
