Yeah, because you clearly weren't implying that towley was better, period. Sure.

Here is the rehash of the same argument that was made earlier.

HM. 1st or 2nd team, at the end of the day the college programs could care less. They don't care what you did in high school. They look at speed, size, and strength. And at the end of the day if they think you can play they will offer.
I agree, and also at the end of the day none cares about whether or not your QB goes to college, only that he won or lost and made the playoffs or did not make the playoffs.
You can not blame a season on one player. Huffman has better supporting roles than liberty does Fitz was a great QB on an average team, where as Townleyt was a better than average qb on an above average team.
Fitz's stats in district
93-143 65% 1641 16td 4int

Townley's stats in district
142-212 67% 1728 21td 6int

That along with Huffman making the playoffs is why Townley was AD and Fitz was HM.
Townley had a better completion % (close); Townley had more yardage (again, close); the TD to Int ratio is also very close:  so where is the argument that Fitz should have been selected ahead of Townley?
There isn't one. Some of the Liberty fans feel that because Fitz is the better college prospect he should've been first team AD. Well the coaches go by what they see and stats not who the better prospect is.
So Once again Townley played better that night and arguably played better throughout district, which is why the coaches voted him 1st team all district, but everyone knows that Fitz is the better college prospect.
Fitz is and was the better quarterback, football player, athlete, passer, everything. He's flat out better, Townley was voted because his team won more games not because he was better, and he wasn't as big a part of you guys victory as Fitz was to ours.
Townley was all 1st team all district because his stats were better and because he won. If winning was the only thing that mattered then Scott would've been 1st team.

Townley was also a pretty dang big part of the team, we saw what happened when he got hurt in the Navasota game.
Daniel Fitzwater 139 213 65.26 2365 23 5

Preston Townley 198 329 60.18 2547 29 13

Stats were even, Fitz's was arguably better..

Huffman finished 9-3 Liberty finished 7-3... not much difference.

You do realize that only district stats are used for all district right? When looking at the district stats (which have been posted above) they are again close, but Townley has the better stats.

Wasn't aware.

All district picks are only based on district game stats and results.

Wouldn't be fair to include non district games because some teams non district schedules are either much easier or much more difficult than others.

Huffman could take 5 different guys and put them at quarterback and they can put up stats, I haven't seen yall play to much but against Liberty it was slants and throwing in the flats which isn't very hard, and a great defense, so IMO Fitz is still better and should've gotten 1st team. Fitzwater makes a lot more difficult throws, but he wasn't let loose in Liberty he had progressions where he eyeballed receivers, in college that and apparently at his new high school, that won't happen. This year will be living proof of part of that theory Liberty goes from 7-3 to 0-2 at the moment so without Fitz they are hurting, Townley is still at Huffman so the rest is un testable but i think we would all agree Huffman would get 2nd without him, they will get first with him, that's my first prediction of the year, but either way he isn't half of Fitzwater.
That's not even accurate.

1. Townley got hurt in the 1st quarter in the Navasota game last year and we had to put Cole Harrell in. The Offense was stagnate from that point on.

2. Townley has a cannon and throws it down field plenty.

3. Even if yall had Fitz I'm not sure yall still wouldn't be 0-2 right now, don't forget Liberty has a much tougher pre-district schedule than yall did last year.

4. If we lost Townley in the same way yall lost Fitz I'm not sure that we would finish 2nd in district. I think an improved Cleveland could definitely beat us out for 2nd.

Why do you guys still have a hang-up on Fitz... He has OBVIOUSLY moved on from Liberty (How about we focus on the why he left?) and he was voted by the COACHES in the district as not even the 2nd best QB in their district.
Let's move on Huffman vs. Liberty...

Nothing you just said makes any sense at all.

Rofl, you huffman ppl. Quite sad. So everyone in SETX should stop keeping up with Fitz because he moved? He didn't make the all-district team? Oh, ok he did.. so again what you said makes no sense. My teacher? Clearly you believe that by putting numbers in my forum name means I have yet to graduate, which is pure speculation. Your assumptions are staying true to the age old phrase. I'm beginning to wonder how huffman was academically acceptable with kids like you running around. Man crush? I've made two threads about Fitz, you (and your broke-back mountain pals from your lil hole in the ground) constantly follow myself as well as the other posters who post in support of Liberty around on the forums giving your best effort to win debates that no one actually cares about. You should take a second and gather your thoughts, you'll realize that you are the one with the "man crush." Btw, being that you think I'm a teenager posting from jefferson drive, you following me around trying to argue makes you look pretty sad and leads me to believe you lack substance in your life. Have a good day, kid.

Your defense is good enough to carry you guys to second. Then add the fact you have a running back who is faster than anyone on Cleveland's team, you'd have offense through that, and Austin Williams is too dynamic of a player he, along with the defense, Townley or no Townley wouldn't let Cleveland, Liberty, or Splendora beat them and the other schools wouldn't win if you didn't even send an offense out and only played with defense and special teams lol, but cs would win.

 • 4 weeks later...
His stats now

95-133, 1446, 14-2 ... 5 games in which they are 4-1 (lost to the number 3 team in the state which is 4a) and he only threw the ball 10 times in one of those games in which he completed 8 for 170.. Also has a 400 yard game this season.

I used to think he wasn't all what he was cracked up to be, but the kid is talented and has grown a lot mentally these last 4 years!

Liberty played an incredibly easy pre-district schedule last year. If you compare stats in district (where everyone is playing the same teams) then Townley's stats are better.

Maybe Townley is the better High School QB, while Fitz is the better college prospect because of things Townley can't control. Either way they both seem to be very good QB's.
and there you have it..........finally.
