EC quit playing HF because they got tired of the ass whoopings!! They started playing HF again when they started having  alot of talent. Then quit again because they lost most of the talent. So come this Friday let the whooping start again!!!!

The first time in HF school history that we didn't play East Chambers was 1992. I don't know which school decided to stop the series. It was probably a mutual agreement because the last three games were out-of-hand. HF won 42-14 in 1989, 63-6 in 1990, and 70-0 in 1991. But if you know of some information on who actually decided not to continue the game, please share.

You are both right. 20 years ago, EC did not want to play. The last few years, H-F declined to play.

As fans we need to keep playing this game. I know my son is in middle school and when he saw EC on schedule he was excited. Then when he found out it was just the high school playing. All of our kids and EC kids run around with each other. That makes it a fun trash talking game for them and us. I know back years ago it was fun for me and many others.

[/quote]I agree, but it seems that when the two school play each other then there are alot of pranks that happen.  To me that isn't good.  All the action needs to be on game night and not vandalizing school property.  That may be one reason the game hasn't been played in a while.

Ec isnt worried about newton or Kirbyville right now. They are focused on HF. The good thing about this team is they take it one week at a time. these boys play hard and have a lot of talent. EC is gonna win this friday by 30+. Nothing against HF, but EC will be too much for the Horns. Good luck to hf.. Gonna be a good thing to have this rivalry going again.

Just asking, have you been to the EC stadium since it was remodled?
The seating is expanded and much bettter, especially on the visitors side. No doubt a huge crowd will be there regardless. I love the Rice Bowl, one of the friendliest rivalries around.  8)

[/quote]LOL. Ok maybe your not up there with Kvillecats. His button is way too easy !!!! We remember the rivalry but our kids, not so much. Graduated 84, but football season 82 & 83 as RB and safety. HF had Perry as RB, Hammond as QB, and Billy as LB. I didn't put last names to respect their privacy. EC has been where HF is right now and it was no fun, but EC is proof that it can be turned around. Good Luck with the rest of the season. Now, Back to the Rivalry. LOL
