Steven Avery Posted September 13, 2012 Report Posted September 13, 2012 Can RSS break the 17 game losing streak against Clear lake who also has at least a 12 game losing streak going. Someone has to win right? Also interesting that the head coaches son choose to stay at CL rather than come to RSS.
Eagle11 Posted September 13, 2012 Report Posted September 13, 2012 My money is on Clear Lake.......and that is sad. If Baytown would go to 2 schools and one varsity program they would be competitive. As it is, the talent is spread too thin
Steven Avery Posted September 13, 2012 Author Report Posted September 13, 2012 There is enough talent at RSS to be a .500 team at least, no excuse for going O fer 2 years in a row. GCM has a good group and Lee actually had more than I thought they would. Each team should be able to make the playoffs with 4 teams going these days.
Eagle11 Posted September 13, 2012 Report Posted September 13, 2012 True Joebob...but I am thinking of being competitive and making runs in the playoffs in all sports......3 schools are just too many in that town
LP0175 Posted September 13, 2012 Report Posted September 13, 2012 Clear Lake by 3. Sterling is lacking a competitive mentality.

ThirdDay Posted September 13, 2012 Report Posted September 13, 2012 I hope this game does not get rained out. Someone needs to get the 0-12 monkey off their back.It has to be tough on a kid, and a dad for that matter, to miss out on their senior year together. I saw that he is a tight end so it makes sense that he wouldn't come to Sterling. Very few passes thrown in this offense so why come here.Kinda reminds me of a line from one of the kids movies. Nobody goes to the zoo to see a crow.Sterling has talent. Just look at what each of these age groups did at the Jr high level. The growth and development just stops once they get to HS. Until they get a leader that inspires confidence and requires a committment, then we have to resort to hoping for a win instead of playing to win.

Make two small 5A schools then.

They sure need to close it, or move Nuevo Leon there. ;D
Steven Avery Posted September 14, 2012 Author Report Posted September 14, 2012 Maybe they can make it the ESL campus?
Eagle11 Posted September 14, 2012 Report Posted September 14, 2012 I am an old REL grad and I hate to see the way it is now but I still think it will be adios in several years. I think they sell everything on the Lee campus to Lee College and go to 2 schools. The interesting part will be.....split campus but one school or 2 5a schools like the old days.

gary-us-bonds Posted September 14, 2012 Report Posted September 14, 2012 My Dad had a friend that would sit pretty close to us at all of the Lee games. This was back in the early to mid 90's, back when Lee had actually had fans that would go to the games. He was an entertaining guy. Lee grad I believe. He moved out to Barbers Hill area though around the early 90's and his kids graduated from Barbers Hill. I assume he is still a Barbers Hill fan. That's why I was asking.
Steven Avery Posted September 17, 2012 Author Report Posted September 17, 2012 Well 18 games and counting. At least one aduddel got a win and broke their streak, too bad it was his kid and not RSS.
Steven Avery Posted September 22, 2012 Author Report Posted September 22, 2012 19 and counting. Does anyone have the scores from each game of the streak?
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 This is really sad whats going on there. Sterling is going to have another 0-fer year.

sahen Posted September 25, 2012 Report Posted September 25, 2012 not that it matters much but you got some scores wrong for this year...lost to clear lake 33-22 and clear creek 33-7...still sad
Steven Avery Posted September 25, 2012 Author Report Posted September 25, 2012 You are correct, got off on my lines with all the "clear" teams and RSS apparenty ability to only score 7 or 22 points in a game. Updatedanyone know what the longest losing streak in the state is?
Eagle11 Posted September 25, 2012 Report Posted September 25, 2012 doesn't that belong to an HISD school?.........Davis maybe?.....80 something games
Steven Avery Posted September 25, 2012 Author Report Posted September 25, 2012 I think you are correct about the longest ever, just curious what the longest current streak is?
bh15 Posted September 25, 2012 Report Posted September 25, 2012
19 and counting. Does anyone have the scores from each game of the streak?
As a sophomre I played on a JV team at Sterling that went 10-0. Then if you add the freshman team I played on and Varsity as a jr. I played in 19 consecutive wins at Sterling. We were finally beaten by Kline 15-14. Most of us cried all the way home on the bus. We just did not know how bad it felt to lose. Winning, like losing, is contagious. But that was back in the day when we had discipline in the schools and Big Al.
Steven Avery Posted October 1, 2012 Author Report Posted October 1, 2012 Loss #20La Porte 42 -RSS 21RSS scored on a 99 yd int return for a TD and a last second td pass. The regular "O" had one TD and I am not sure if that wasnt against the backups? Sad
