Wow. What a show of determination by Nederland. Coming out and having four turnovers in the 1st quarter would've shut down a lot of teams but they fought and fought and came very close to a win against an incredible Angleton team. I think going for 2 was absolutely the right call. It was raining Cats and Dogs out there tonight! (pardon the pun). I'm very glad I made the long drive, it was well worth it. Very proud of this team, they deserve a top 10 spot in the polls. Good luck wildcats.
as far as the AP Poll NED shouldnt drop no more than to #9 or #10 depending on where they put former #6 Amarillo which lost to WF Rider who was like #12 i believe.

What happened to Pryor and Hopkins?

I would like to know as well.  Hopefully the bye week gives them time to get healthy.

I don't think they will drop that much.  Probably down to #7.  They proved they belong in the rankings.

Heavyweight slugfest. Turnovers were the difference. Spot a top 10 team in the state 13 on turnovers and come back to tie or go for win takes a good team. Got to agree with the 2 pt attempt on the road in non district. Really hope Pryor and Hopkins are not too bad. Two weeks to heal and prepare for a good Vidor team. Good game. No shame in losing this game to Angleton. They're the real deal. Hope these two teams can get far enough in the playoffs to give Ned another shot in one that counts for a lot. Congrats to Angleton.

Rankings don't mean much, but I think Nederland proved they belong in the discussion with teams that could have very deep runs in the playoffs.  An 8 point loss on the road to the #3 team is probably a pretty good barometer of what they are capable of, barring injuries and turnovers.

Brock has hyper  extended elbow should be ok. Hopkins has strain quad and Del Ferio has what appears to be a concussion. Looks like all should return  within days. Tough game with to many turnovers and penalties. Dogs got to clean that up to be able to beat the big boys.

Just got home, but wow, what a game!  Really proud of the Dogs...they could have easily mailed it in after 4 first quarter turnovers, but that just isn't in the makeup of this bunch...they will fight you...hats off to Angleton...they are very good, but I cannot say that I was surprised by that...I expected them to be dang good and they did not disappoint...I would love to see them again in the playoffs.

As for the injuries, Pryor has a hyper-extended elbow, Delfirio has a concussion...not sure about Hopkins...sure hope these guys can heal up in 2 weeks for the district opener...it's time to defend the crown!!!

And going for 2??  Absolutley the right call in a non-district road game...I have zero problem with that at all.

Congrats to both teams...really good, exciting game in miserable weather, but fun as heck to watch.

Great time for a bye week.  We need everyone healthy for district.

Almost nailed this one.

My prediction was a 32-31 Angleton win.
If it weren't for the last second 40 yd TD on 4th down, you would have nailed it! Angleton coaches were mad that he scored, bc it actually gave Ned :30 to try to tie up the game.
Two of the coaches wanted him to go down so the clock would run out. Maybe you didn't see them react, but it happened.
