Im sure your defence is good but really who have you played yet besides last night ? good job last night by the way :) we will see in 2 weeks pirate lol
does who we played take away from how our defense performs?(and thanx, same to you)
You're smart enough to know the answer to that question - of course it does.  I'm not saying Vidor's defense isn't any good, but I don't think you can compare the teams that Nederland has played versus who Vidor has played.  You should have shutout Santa Fe, but so would have about half of 20-4A.

The Clear Brook game was a good win for y'all, but CB is not Angleton in terms of offense and explosiveness.  And while Crosby and GCM weren't great teams they did have some speed and offensive playmakers.
Top to bottom, Vidor hasn't seen that yet.  I think objectively Nederland has the better defense and that should be the difference in the game.  Vidor's style of play on offense will throw in some wrinkles, but Nederland's D has already shown the ability to stop or contain the run on teams with bigger lines and with more speed in the backfield than Vidor has.

I think Nederland wins by 10, but if Ned turns over the ball like last night I wouldn't be surprised to see Vidor win.
Last week ya'll were saying those two teams was no challenge for you, now you try to build them up to make you look good. ha.. ;)
What part of the 'not great teams' part did you not understand?  My point is not that they were stud teams, but that they are better than what Vidor has played top to bottom.  Dayton should handle both of them fairly easily.

I guess you are one of the Dayton posters holding on to the win the scrimmage argument from a few weeks ago.

you know, too bad Ned and Vidor will likely go seperate divisions for the playoffs. I so much wanted to see them play eachother again last year for the region.
I think we can hug on this one and agree.  Should be a great game and I would love to see a Vidor / Nederland match up for the regional championship.

315.5 hours until kickoff, and we are already on page 6. Grab a drink and some snacks, sit back and enjoy cheap entertainment (no offense)!

Might be worth the drive to see this slugfest. Angleton is off that week so I might get some folks together to come see this slobber knocker. Good luck to both teams!!!

who does Angleton play next week? i'm thinking i'm gonna go see Dayton play Crosby, but i owe purple/silver/white a black and gold appearance.

I agree with the assestment that Vidor is predictable "run," "run," "run," Nederlands strength at Defense is "prevent the run," "prevent the run," "sack the Qb", "sack the Qb".....

With that said, I do believe Vidor will have big plays (maybe some type of trick play that they pull out of their bag of tricks)

Special teams will be important for both teams.  Look for onside kicks when least expected.

If Nederland offense clicking on all cylinders, Nederland by more than 2 Tds.

Vidor will do fine in front of their home crowd and I do believe this will be higher scoring than anyone thinks.

Go Dogs!

Just curious did you happen to see what that "prevent the run, prevent the run, sack qb, sack qb" did last night? If I am not mistaken (and I am pretty sure I am not) I believe it was something to the tune of 38 carries for 273 yards which would give an average of 7.18 yards a carry. So "prevent the run" definitely did not happen last night....just saying

I say Vidor by 13. Was not impressed with Nederland at all listening to the game last night. Granted they were playing the almighty Angleton, but was a sloppy game with several mistakes that were costly.

No disrespect to Vidor, but they are no Angleton, and I do believe Vidor would agree that they don't have that speed, quickness, etc, etc.....

Now, concerning Vidor vs Nederland, I do believe our Defense will be the best match to your offense and the balance will go Nederland's way....Yes, Vidor will have a big play, score, etc, etc......However, too much Nederland Defense and too little time for Vidor to make adjustments during game.

Nederland wins this one....of course, this just my prediction on paper and the game will settle it once and for all.  NO matter the outcome, I'll take it without complaining about this or that, like I know some will do. ::)

Different year & different players, wasn't saying that Vidor would have beat Angleton. Just the way some people make it sound is as if Angleton could challenge UT or something because they were able to beat Nederland. Everything will be played out soon enough. Wish I could make the drive down to see that game. Was really hoping Nederland would have won last night. I have been a Nederland fan since I moved to SE TX in '95. Just gotta pull for Vidor since I have family playing there. Either way, best of luck to both teams and hope they make deep runs into December Football!!

I will say this: 3 predictions that Nederland would lose big and 3 times we've proved them wrong!  Please keep prediciting our demise!

This just in: Jeff Mathews told me has tentative agreements from Katy, Lake Travis and Lamar University to shut everyone up about who we play in the preseason.
