GoDogs27
I have no inside knowledge, just pure speculation but I think Spell will consider a 4-4 this week. I think we've also ran a 4-2-5 quite a bit as well? But with the limited passing by Vidor, he may consider putting 8 in the box.

Montana can throw the ball out of a moving pocket with the option to run. Be ready for that because he does it well. Not saying that Clear Brook's D-line is Nederland's but they were pretty big and physical and we handled them well. Slot-T is not about size and strength but speed and technique. Also, I believe our defense will match up well with your offense...it did last year and it's basically the same one.

As long as your defensive backs remember their number one priority, Ned can still stack the box. Last year Vidor released the TE and Montana put it right on the money without a DB in sight. As long as Spell preaches that this week, the Dogs shouldn't get burned. Quirante can put it on the money though so they better remember the pass. I'm sure that is going to be a focus of this week. I believe that's the only way Vidor beats Nederland, by catching them off guard. I just think Ned has too much size and speed defensively to be overpowered by the run. Bulldogs2011
I will say this as an Angleton fan. I've talked to some of the coaches in Angleton and they said that they will not see a better defensive front than Nederland. The O Coordinator said that it was the best he's ever seen and he's been around the block a time or two.
