NewtonNation Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 Buna takes this one. I don't think it will be a shootout like last year.Buna 50Hemphill 21
bruno994 Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 Gotta like the Coogs in this one with its' 2 headed rushing attack. Ford will hurt you and Biddle will blow by you. This is the Cougars last tuneup before their reentry into 3A football with a potential playoff implication game against Bridge City in Buna. Personally, I would work on a few things against Hemphill , not worry about a W or L and be ready for BC, both game plan and injury wise. The battle for 3rd place in 21-3A will be between Buna, BC and OF. GO COUGARS!
TXHORN_ET Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 After the Cougars second half performance against Liberty last week, I'll take Buna in this one. They'll have to keep Twine in front of them though and not get upfield.
HowboutdemHoGS Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 I will go with Buna, on this one, because of Ford and Biddle also. If the passing game can kick in, it could possibly be a lopsided game. The Twine kid, well more like man, will have to be contained and Cougars defense will have to step up big time. I am hoping to see B. Tippett have his best game of the season on the defensive side of the ball, gotta make him mad some how and then let that big ox go to work. I don't know much about Hemphill's defense, but if it has gotten any better than last year, then this will be a tough battle. Good luck to both teams.
fball37 Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 Iv heard twine isn't playing is this true?
Cougar4Life Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 Stopping Twine..near impossible, slowing him down...easier said than done. However From what i've seen of the scores Hemphill is struggling with defense even more than last year. I think they will be playing "catch-up" almost every game just trying to outscore their opponent. Going with my Cougs in this one. Should be a lot like last year just not as high scoring and without the buzzer thriller win. Buna 42Hemphill 34
xquizit Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 I heard Twine isnt playing also.....
TXHORN_ET Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 Tell us more 'x' and 'fb37' on what you've heard about Twine not playing...I might just have to save my $5 if that's true.
fball37 Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 Iv heard Hamstring problems.. may just be all talk tho..
AggiesAreWe Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 Twine has played this season. Missed the 2nd half of last game due to leg injury. Not sure if he will play this week.
TXHORN_ET Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 Well that's not good news for Hemphill if he doesn't play. Hamstring injury might hamper him for a bit of time..he might be out for the SA game next week also if that's the case.
wildcats35 Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 I have heard he is missing next week to go play in an all-star baseball game..........I guess its true,0-3 its quitting time!
Guest momof2hornets Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 Wildcat: 0-3 has nothing to do with his choice to play or not. You don't know him at all if you think that kid is a quitter!
pinelandflash Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 I have heard around Hemphill that it could be his hamstring. When you're a burner like him those are tough to recover from. I personally think they should save him for district play, but he is a competitor and will be hard to keep him off the field. By the way, if you want to see a great game Friday night come to Tenaha as West Sabine takes on the defending state champs in 1A div.2. Starts @8, I believe.
TXHORN_ET Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 Am hopeful Justin will recover from this injury and come back stronger than ever. I know there were a good number of fans wanting to see him play in Buna this week. We'll see how the Hornets do w/o him.
