Nederland tickets for the Vidor game

I was just looking at that jmoore.....I believe a team can make a rule for their field or a district could make a rule for their schools but I cannot find anywhere in the UIL handbook that says it is a UIL rule

I wouldn't be surprised if a school or district made a rule along those lines to keep altercations/incidents from happening. Makes sense, until the home side is sold out playing against an opponent that doesn't travel well or have much support.

I may have the district rules and UIL rules crossed.  Years and years ago during Vidor's homecoming games only could Vidor sit on the visiting teams side due to over flow.  However, the district does not allow the home team to sit on the visitors side any longer.  They haven't for years.

I seriously doubt that the schools administration sat down and said you know what let's screw over Nederland this year for just sh**s and giggles. Grow up and get all the facts before you start calling people out. "a terrible example of bad sportsmanship" Hmmm and your post here jumping to conclusions when you have no clue what the situation actually is does not set a terrible example and isn't bad sportsmanship by running down a town and a team without knowledge on the situation. Kudos!!

My question would then be.....how do you control that? If I dressed in black as a vidor fan and went on nederlands side then pull off my shirt to reveal a vidor shirt.....would I be kicked out? What if I wore a PNG shirt but was a vidor fan?

I think the rule would be that Vidor cannot sell tickets to their fans through the school.....but if you go to the stadium and buy one that can't be controlled.....just wondering/not arguing

Eagle last year at the MCM game there was a Nederland fan sitting on the PNG side with his wife.  This man was the most obnoxious person I have ever seen.  He was rude and down right hateful to the people sitting around him.  We were not close but I could hear him.  He finally jumped in this mans face and I thought all hell would break loose but it didn't. The police finally asked him to leave.  By the way his wife had already left because he embarrassed her so much.

You know what I mean......ok, if a vidor fan wore a shirt that said Dr. Pepper on it.....lol......my question is......if an administrator knows that fan is a Vidor fan, how do they control that? I think they would remove a bunch of kids congregating on the wrong side tho.....trouble waiting to happen.

Cheermom, I agree with you.....I have seen the same thing but I guess outside of bringing the law in, how can adminisrators control that? Especially when there will be thousands of fans moving around?

I have no problems with anyone cheering on their own team.  But when you are sitting on the other teams side don't act a fool.  Also he is lucky I wasn't the woman he was talking to crazy because I would have shown him CRAZY.

I know for a fact that VISD sent an abundance of tickets to NISD.  This is an issue you need to take up with your own school district and not try to drag another school district thru the mud based on your personal assumptions.

I know for a fact the pass 2 times we played Vidor for their Homecoming there were several Vidor folk sitting on our side. As soon as Half was over they all got up and left. This was after PNG was told there're no tickets left.

Ok I got to the bottom of it. Vidor only sent over a certain allotment at the beginning of the year and Nederland sold most of them to season ticket holders. The remaining tickets is what NISD has to sell because Vidor won't send anymore. Not sure why they won't but there's your story.

I believe Season ticket holders get the first shot at these tickets when they pick up their tickets before the season.  If Nederland gets 1000 tickets and the season ticket holders buy 990 of them, that only leaves 10 for the rest of the people.  I know it sucks, but that is the way it is done at most schools.

They split the gate.  The refs get a cut as does the UIL.

They probably sold them first to current season ticket holders then to the public.  Hence the reason there is only XX amount tickets left.  Just one of the perks of being a season ticket holder!  If Vidor would have sent all of their visitor tickets to Ned, don’t you think fans that didn’t go to the school district the week of the game or before would be ticked if they were turned away at the gate because they didn’t purchase the tickets at the school??

That happens at MCM every year.  The tickets are gone before the game starts.

Nobody is dragging anybody through the mud. Facts are facts. For whatever reason, Vidor won't send anymore. The standard procedure seems to be for the home school to send more tickets if the away school is low the week of but Vidor wont. This is coming from a reliable source at NISD. Someone who handles these tickets. Just wondering... Is this Vidor's homecoming?
