TallinaBoyz Posted October 27, 2012 Author Report Posted October 27, 2012 I hunt on my dads land (no fence) off of old batson saratoga rd
Lefty99 Posted October 29, 2012 Report Posted October 29, 2012 Went for my first bow hunt of the season yesterday evening. Saw a coyote but it wouldn't give me a shot and I wasn't about to sling a $20 arrow & broadhead at him. Zilcch on seeing deer. Got some pics of a good 8pt at my rifle stand. Hope I can get a crack at him next weekend.
TallinaBoyz Posted October 31, 2012 Author Report Posted October 31, 2012 Good luck this weekend fellas. Stay safe
Lefty99 Posted October 31, 2012 Report Posted October 31, 2012 Likewise Buccaneer#3!Be safe out there guys and good luck! I know I will have a restless night Saturday night. My season won't start until Sunday due to my daughters birthday party.
westend1 Posted October 31, 2012 Report Posted October 31, 2012 Went out to Junction last weekend. Surprisingly, saw a couple of bucks chasing does. Looks like the rut has started a little earlier than usual at our place. They don't normally start chasing until around Thanksgiving.
bullets13 Posted November 1, 2012 Report Posted November 1, 2012 I'm starting to get excited! I took Monday and Tuesday off and I'm ready to get to the lease. Not sure how many deer I'll see, but I like my odds off at least dropping a pig or two.
tvc184 Posted November 1, 2012 Report Posted November 1, 2012 I am heading to south Texas at about 6:30AM in the morning. Will hunt Thursday-Sunday.
olddadt49 Posted November 1, 2012 Report Posted November 1, 2012 I am hoping things get better at my place. I haven't seen any sign of a deer of any kind in the daylight since opening weekend of bow season. Lots of action on cameras at night though!
TallinaBoyz Posted November 3, 2012 Author Report Posted November 3, 2012 opening morning fellas. fixing to head to the stand first decent pic of a deer wins. (Ranch deer dont count) ;D
bullets13 Posted November 3, 2012 Report Posted November 3, 2012 slow going out here today... three of us hunted. one saw a doe and a button buck, one saw a doe and a yearling, and that was IT.
bullets13 Posted November 4, 2012 Report Posted November 4, 2012 Missed a hog. Pretty grumpy about it, but it was a tough shot. He kept sticking his head out of the thick stuff and grabbing corn at about 70 yards. It was getting dark so I tried to pop him when he stuck his head out
ST413 Posted November 4, 2012 Report Posted November 4, 2012 Get to start my season in the morning, parents out ner fredericksburg and it has been pretty slow there..
marshman Posted November 4, 2012 Report Posted November 4, 2012 I think a cow horn spike was the only thing killed at my club on Saturday.
TallinaBoyz Posted November 4, 2012 Author Report Posted November 4, 2012 super slow start yesterday! dad saw five does and i saw a mama and a baby. grandpa missed a nine point. hoping for better today
bullets13 Posted November 4, 2012 Report Posted November 4, 2012 We saw two borderline 8-points today, a 3 or 4 point, and a couple of does. No shots taken.
ST413 Posted November 5, 2012 Report Posted November 5, 2012 Had 3 does and yearlings to each side of me this morning early. May have had a buck on his scrape about ten minutes earlier than that. All this before having to sit through a strong thunderstorm in my pop up blind about 7:20. May have seen as many as 7 or 8 deer.
TallinaBoyz Posted November 5, 2012 Author Report Posted November 5, 2012 I was in my treestand when the rain storm blew in. Didn't take long to join my dad in the box blind haha ;D
marshman Posted November 5, 2012 Report Posted November 5, 2012 What Counties is everyone hunting? Just curious. I hunt in jasper and orange county.
BellBiz30 Posted November 5, 2012 Report Posted November 5, 2012 I hunt in Angelina county. Yesterday I tagged out for the year , got 2 spikes and 2 doe, which is good for me cause now hunting won't get in the way of the playoffs! ;D
ST413 Posted November 5, 2012 Report Posted November 5, 2012 Hardin and some in Tyler. Won't get to make my annual trip to Mason county this year. :'(
