Vidor has performed better than any band in the area at the Area F Marching Competition (not Region X; bands are only given division ratings there and are not ranked against each other) the last two competition years. They also put on what is arguably the best homecoming show in the state. Although Nederland does put on a show with some awesome visual effects and really probably has the better concert band, when it comes to marching, Vidor is superior in my opinion.

Now when it comes to NAMMB, I really can't say much because I don't pay much attention to military band competitions and PN-G isn't a military band. I have a friend who was in the Nederland band a few years ago that said Nederland left that competition on bad terms (I have no idea what the issue was or even if that's true). However, Nederland won that competition several years consecutively when still attending.
