MIF04 Posted March 5, 2006 Report Posted March 5, 2006 From West Brook (5 games, all at their tourney): (in no particular order) MARK SERNA 8-14, .571, 10 R, 4 RBI, 2B, 3B, HR JOHN MICHAEL FALGOUT 6-13, .462, 9 R, 7 RBI, 2 x 2B, 3B, HR DAVID MURPHY 5-12, .417, 4 R, 5 RBI, 2B, HR plus 7 IP (CG win/shutout vs. PNG), 0 R, 4 H, 4 K BOBBY ARMSTRONG 7-14, .500, 5 R, 3 RBI, 2 x 2B, 3B All are deserving and had great weeks. Serna, Falgout and Armstrong all were very productive offensively. Murphy was also productive and had the shutout of PNG.
MIF04 Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 I saw Stanley's game vs. BC. An outstanding job of keeping them off balance, etc. On the other hand, I also saw Murphy's game vs. PNG and it was every bit as good. Both had outstanding pitching performances. Angelle's game on Thursday was also very, very good. By the same token, if you look beyond a one game performance, then you need look at hitting, etc.
JohnnyT60 Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 Softball: LCM Cody Trahan Big Bell Classic In 36 innings pitched, Cody Trahan had 86K’s, 4BB’s and only 4 hits.No earned runs. She was also 8-16 at the plate with (3) doubles.
tnl91 Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 From Ozen Dede Lott 6 - 8, average .750 1 2b, 2HR, 5 RBI's Although not a lot at bats, still productive against quality 5A pitching Just a soph.
jdawg03 Posted March 6, 2006 Author Report Posted March 6, 2006 wow we may have to also have a female version
jdawg03 Posted March 6, 2006 Author Report Posted March 6, 2006 Murphy looks to be the front runner so far
SilsbeeD Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 i need to go get the stats on some of our players, so i will prolly nominate one tommorow
RedBarn Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 How about some award for Bridge City. Don't one of thier guys deserve it?
Guest Cardinal12 Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 Billy Bryant BC HC. He's an insperation to all. We should all say thanks for all that he's done. (haha)
jdawg03 Posted March 7, 2006 Author Report Posted March 7, 2006 looks like someone is trying to suck up...haha
bunaballer Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 Cardinal12 We almost beat you all tonight with the moves your coach made. ha ha
MIF04 Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 Well, I'll leave Bryant 'moves' tonight alone, but BC almost snatched defeat from the jaws of victory tonight, needing to bring in Angelle to sop a 7th inning Cougar rally. Time will be the test of any coach (Bryant included). In the 3 years he has been there, BC has been blessed with an abundance of talent for any school (much less a 3A school). You should win at that level with that talent. The trick comes in a year or two when that talent pool recedes and you have to COACH, not just rely on some very special kids. And Bryant might be that guy...he just needs to do it first.
Diehardstro Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 MIF04, which game/games did Serna pitch in the WB tourney?
Gtj007 Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 I'll go with Stanley from Nederland. As a pitcher, it dosen't get much better than throwing a 1 hit complete game shutout of a #1 team. Pretty impressive!!!
jdawg03 Posted March 7, 2006 Author Report Posted March 7, 2006 Nominations will close at 10 pm tonite
Guest Cardinal12 Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 I was just joking. Not sucking up at all. I never would.
MIF04 Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 Serna pitched the LC Barbe game. He had it won 6-3 with 2 outs in the 7th when an error opened the floodgates. He pitched very well against a nationally ranked team.
jdawg03 Posted March 8, 2006 Author Report Posted March 8, 2006 Player of the Week is: DAVID MURPHY (West Brook) 5-12, .417, 4 R, 5 RBI, 2B, HR plus 7 IP (CG win/shutout vs. PNG), 0 R, 4 H, 4 K
MIF04 Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 Congrats to David (and Mike & Ellen). A most deserving choice !!!!
