To me it's a toss up between Jakobi Jones, Zach English, and Jacory Guillory of Central. Who do yaul think?
Guillery for Central is a good shooter , burger plays nervous sometimes, IMO.

A HS coach wants his PG to be able to handle pressure, run the offense, and be able to drive to the bucket. I don't see many 'pure PGs' in HS. Soulja says Guillery can shoot and so can English. Never known JJ to shoot much. I think JJ's strength is his defense and his ability to handle pressure well.

A true PG gets his team involved by penetration and assists. A true PG is a pass-first kind of guy. While English does handle the ball well and gets his share of assists, he is more of a shooter first, IMO.

I think the elder Hunter boy is about the purest PG in the area. He looks to pass first. He can get to the hole and distribute. Additionally, the PG from Silsbee is that way too (from what I've seen). The kid will just blow by anyone, and he gets the ball off quickly. Lott from PAM is another PG who likes to shoot (don't blame him bc he's got a nice stroke). I don't see him as a pure PG though. does Devonte Johnson play PG? I know he also has a nice stroke from outside, and he can take it to the hole as well. He should be in the conversation as well, IMO.

If we are going with best pure PG, I'll take Hunter. Out of the three mentioned in the 1st comment, I will go with English (go ahead, call me a Homer)!  ;D

I agree with Badsanta...Wilson from Silsbee has to be listed here. Very quick, has control of the offense, good passer, handles pressure, and a defensive terror.
Is he the kid who is about 5'7" and super quick?

I know the answer to this is yes, but in reality there are a number of Tiger players that fit that description.

I forgot to mention Devante Johnson. To me he has the best offensive game in setx. Having to guard him during aau practice this summer was the hardest thing I've ever had to do lol. And Jared hunter Is probably the best 'pure' pg. He can fit passes into spots no one else can even see.

Dont forget about Darius Riley from H-F. Kid can play. He is a great passer and can drive to basket pretty well also. Him and Malveaux were the two main componets that got us to the playoffs last year

From what I have seen of Johnson's play for HJ, he is not a PG.

You guys/gals nominating Ned players are definitely homers. We do not have any player that should be considered in this category. English is a good shooting guard, but not a PG. Our biggest weakness is handling the ball. If you think I'm nuts just ask BD3 he knows exactly what I'm talking about.  Tell em Blue.

I don't think anyone nominated any Ned players in this category. You may want to read the entire thread. I don't know where 'Ihoopallday' is from, but I don't believe he is from Nederland.

DANTI Wilson has My vote He control the Game an I have yet to see him fold under pressure not to mention Tough as Nails

I think after this Season Greyland Arnold of Kountze will be in the Argument

Just a short note/fyi- Devante Johnson is being recruited as a point guard and will put in plenty of time this season at that position.  While I am in  no position to "declare" who is the best point guard,  my guess is that he is as efficient as generating a quality shot on his own as anybody in the area. He will also be regarded favorably in 3 point shooting.
