freeze 1914 Posted October 11, 2012 Report Posted October 11, 2012 Devante will be taking a unofficial visit to McNeese State this weekend. Should he be getting more looks from colleges or is he not ready yet for the next level? Thoughts......

[/quote]From where because according to very close sources he has not recieved any letters or phone calls from any schools but I'm pretty sure UNO will be in there soon.
BLUEDOVE3 Posted October 11, 2012 Report Posted October 11, 2012 Devante's *looks* will be coming. He's a good player and I wish him good luck.
stevenash Posted October 11, 2012 Report Posted October 11, 2012 I am pretty sure that there is definitely a "place" for Devante at the college level.

Often times, they are sent to people that the coach and staff of any particular school have never heard of. I know a local sophomore football player who received a "letter" from LSU and it had no meaning whatsoever.
BLUEDOVE3 Posted October 11, 2012 Report Posted October 11, 2012 Until they offer none of it don't mean nothing.
uandme08 Posted October 11, 2012 Report Posted October 11, 2012 I could possibly wallpaper a room with the letters I know a certain kid has received but no offers.
BLUEDOVE3 Posted October 11, 2012 Report Posted October 11, 2012 The visits, letters, phone calls, midnight madness trips, Facebook contacts, letters are cool. Your ego is stroked but all that don't mean nothing unless the offer. They know who they want. If you're listed #2, they are trying to offer #1. If #1 goes somewhere else, then they have more time for you and you become their priority.
asary Posted October 11, 2012 Report Posted October 11, 2012 Devante will do better than McNeese St ;)

Point being is that you can't assume anything until you offered.

He will play ball somewhere. Most people dont know this but he is suppose to be a junior, but was moved up a grade in elementary. He is not even 17 yet.
BLUEDOVE3 Posted October 12, 2012 Report Posted October 12, 2012 So Freeze, what do you think is the reason he is not receiving the attention? At this stage in high school, age don't matter. I think its an advantage for advanced younger players playing against older players. Again, what is your take on lack of attention from colleges.
stevenash Posted October 12, 2012 Report Posted October 12, 2012 Make him happy freeze by telling him this: He is not getting attention because he plays for HJ That will make Doves day
BLUEDOVE3 Posted October 12, 2012 Report Posted October 12, 2012 Nash you know good-n-well it don't matter. You good, they will find you. Larry Bird comes to mind.
BADSANTA Posted October 12, 2012 Report Posted October 12, 2012 I saw hm play vs Sealy and vs Waco last year. He will play college ball. As far as guards fo, there may not be anyone better overall.

Team Game Posted October 12, 2012 Report Posted October 12, 2012 i had recently heard that he was just 17 and was curious about being a Senior. Often you hear of Seniors being older after having an extra year in the early grades. Good for him and the best of luck on his future in basketball. Don't let him worry about the letters....he will get his chance.

But by high school, it really does not matter anymore. College coaches don't care.
