Ouch.  Honestly, running up the score like this to this point wasn't necessary.  what The heck did EC do to make Newton  administer an arse whipping of these proportions?
[/quote]
Honestly, fumbles that turned into touchdowns, int's that turned into touchdowns, and couldn't stop sophomores. There was a running clock the entire 4th quarter. What else are players to do? Don't start this unnecessary crap if you weren't there. Coaches didn't try to do this. Newton attempted a 35 yd field goal on 2nd down in fourth quarter. You can keep your unnecessary knowledge in Beaumont.

Was it the head coach? Was it one of the coaches you "heard"? Was it the water boy? Was it a fan? Was it an assistant coach? Were you there? Sophomores from QB to running backs to defensive players were in the lineup from middle of third qtr on. Running clock. Last night why stop at 74 if they were "trying" to run it up. Could a scored 150 easily. Just one of those nights. EC fan came on here and accused Newton of "running up" the score on Warren. Didn't happen. EC goes and scores 63 on Warren. Nothing said. Just chill out. It was one of those games to forget, for Newton and EC.

YOU came on a Newton thread with accusations against an entire program with a blanket statement and don't like the answer. You want to strut that you can say what you want but no one can take you to task for it? It don't take common sense to face down a bully.

(EC Nana).......I have been reading all the comments about last night's game.....I, too, was shocked from the first 16 seconds.....Newton has unbelievable talent, speed & depth, but EC also has much more than what we showed.....the team can only run the plays that are called and, being human, we all make mistakes.....ours were very costly....but I am still proud of the BUCS & the fact that even tho our crowd didn't have lots of points to cheer about, the fans continued to encourage the team...I, too, am not a supporter of running up the score, but I didn't see much that could be done....you can't tell'em not to pick up the fumble & run it in.....the 2nd down field goal attempt was a first for me...have never seen that before.....but it was a little too late & EC wasn't asking for favors.......I don't recognize any of you who comment on this site, but I would love to sit beside kvillecats at next week's game.....will probably be interesting.....EC was picked to be in the playoffs this year & I 'still believe'......so BUCS, concentrate on the rest of this season & get pumped up to beat Kirbyville......WE BELIEVE IN YOU!!!

No ma'am they didn't and with class continued to play hard. The EC fans were great and your right, stayed and continued to support their Bucs. I admire that kind of fan base. The Bucs just had one of those nights that happen every now and then and they will be in the playoffs and need to just put this one to bed and out of memory, because they are not the team we saw last night. The EC fans on here have been very reasonable and understand what happened last night. It was not what the score showed, it was an anomaly. They will be back. WT learned the field goal thing from Coach Barbay. I can actually remember Coach Barbay punting on first down. You don't want to do this sort of thing to often, but it was in an attempt to slow things down. Good luck Bucs and good luck Nana. Hang with those Bucs.

47-7 at halftime,  EC kinda gave up, and the young backups for Newton wanted to score.  Newton didn't try to run it up or the score would have been 88-7 or way worse ... Refugio won 80-0 vs there opponent, these things happen when you play that well and your that focused....The kids wanted revenge help to!
