No not at all but do you really think they are on the field on Tuesday or Thursday night say......I wish I was on Varsity instead of Freshman or JV.  I mean really I don't have sons but I have enough nephews and have gone to enough games to know that that is not what they are thinking they are concentrating on their game at hand and will worry about Friday nights when they get there. If it was all about Friday night then why even have the other teams?

I will be there tomorrow...as well as Friday night.  The other thread is for the underclassmen.  Nothing wrong with that thread.  These guys play their hearts out too...so those games are just as important to them.

It's called MCM even at the junior league level...they call it Jr MCM, but our kids love it!  It's been around so long that all Indians and Bulldogs love this week.  From flag up to varsity, it's exciting for them.  They learn about this rivalry early at PNG and Nederland.  Just because it's a younger group, doesn't mean that they don't love it too. 

And yes, the underclassmen are preparing for Friday nights.  But they do have to earn it...and in order to do that, they have to start somewhere.  Our rivalry isn't only for varsity guys....even though that is the "big show."

I know for me and my family that has both Indians and Bulldogs in it.  It has been a smack talk rivalry since some of the kids were born.  I can remember my nephew coming to my house in his Bulldog shirt and me taking it off and throwing it in the trash.  8)  He was only about 5 then, he is about to be 13 now. He still remembers it and laughs.

If i remember correctly, there is a saying that Friday Nights START on Saturday Morning...& that includes Tuesdays & Thursdays. These kids dream of Friday Nights for years. And getting ready for that whether it be on Saturday, Tues, or Thurs is all part of it. It doesnt mean that it doesnt matter. These sophmores that were moved up were on these JV teams just a few weeks ago. Everyone on that field no matter what day of the week makes a difference...js  ;)

This gave me a good laugh, inremember when my nephew was about 7 and my oldest daughter was 4, I would say to her what do we think about those Indians and she would put her finger to her mouth and act like she was gagging. We would see my nephew on Friday after a long day of getting fired up listening to Cherokee at school and we would ask her what she thought of those Indians and when she did that he would get so mad! Still to this day we laugh about it. He moved to Nederland about 4 years later and became a Bulldog fan just like the rest of us.

Good Luck Dogs! If I could give you guys any advice it would be to go out and have fun playing this game. Enjoy cracking heads with your teammates and forget about being state ranked. Dont let the expectations take the fun out of playing together and having a blast. Have fun working hard and everything will work out. You guys have been a joy to watch and I certainly cant wait till Friday when you guys slap that purple all over field!!!
