Great win for the pirates last night and yes it was a little chilly with that wind.  I can tell you I was a little worried about this game.  Even with hearing the indians were down this year,  the pirates seem to be allergic to purple and not play well when we play PNG.  It was good to see the offense get rolling early and often.  Good win guys,  Keep it up.

I completely agree, all teams have some obnoxious fans. Last night there was a guy about 4 or 5 rows behind us that had been yelling stupid stuff all night. At one point it was 28-0 and he felt as if a PF flag should have been thrown against PNG. He wasn't letting it go, so I stood up, turned around and said, my god what more do you want?!? It's 28-0 for Christ sake!! Later in the 3rd, PNG was in TD range and there was a hard hit on PNGs QB. He started yelling again, I was pissed by that point, I spun around so fast and said some things to him. Needless to say, I never heard his loud mouth after that......

Yes There were some like that on 2nd level of Central game.... on every play they complained very annoying to hear that on every play..... EVERY PLAY!!! Gets old quick!

When I can I go to PNG games, regular season or playoffs.  What shocked me last night was when the lights came back on it looked like the game was over, just about every PNG fan left.  I have never seen that in the PNG fans, come hail, storms, whatever the PNG fan base has always been solid.  What a disappointment last night to see that.

There were some, for both sides, that should've been called. Regardless of score you have to call a PF when it happens, especially when they keep on happenning, when they don't get called is when games get out of hand. Think if it was your son out there getting way after the whistle, you would expect something to happen right?

PNG and Nederland may have a huge rivalry, but some of PNG's best friends are in Nederland, likewise with Nederland, and if you live in either one of those towns, you probably have family in the other one. We are a tight community all but one week a year.

bottom line, people leave early when a game is decided and even sooner when you have weather that's not exactly comfortable to be in. i don't blame anyone for leaving early last night, i was dumb enough to where shorts so my legs are just now getting their feeling back(lol). the reason for the post i made was many times some certain individuals laid claim to this fanbase thing not ever wanting to admit that indian fans are prone to leave early. i'm sure next year i will hear again. so, really, my post was directed at them and they know who they are. heck, they probably weren't even there last night and that's usually the way it works. and no, i didn't take a pic of the vidor side. it's no secret that we have alot that bail early every game. GOOD LUCK to the Indians and i'm certain ya'll will get it turned around.

I was surprised myself to see the empty stands after halftime...can't blame people..but felt sad for the boys coming out and seeing that.

I know I am very late in posting this and it may never be received and read for whom it is intended but better late than never! This is going out to proudndn; Last night two high school football teams played a competitive game called football. The Vidor Pirates were host to the PNG Indians on what was Vidor's Homecoming. The home side was at greater than capacity  seating and there was several hundred more standing along the fence to watch the game. There was at all times 11 players on both teams playing offensively and defensively, both of these teams played with pride, talent and heart. All of these boys should take pride in their efforts, their talents shone through with their love of the game. As with most game's, it ended with one team coming out on top, which in last nights game Vidor got the win. During half time the bands from both schools performed for our entertainment, again with pride, talent and heart. The performance from both bands was awesome, two different styles, two different routines. The drill teams and twirlers were awesome as well. Neither bands were any better than the other last night. Last weekend the UIL marching band contest was held with Vidor receiving straight ones. I'm not sure what rating the PNG band received but if the performed then as they did last night I could only imagine they received straight ones as well. You see proud, the competition was played out with school aged students, I don't know your age, just guessing since you was seated in the stands you are above the said age, you might can learn something from them. Stop trash talking and let the score at the end speak. You can also learn from the other PNG fans on this forum of how a truly Proud Indian fan should represent his team. Jealousy is a great form of flattery. Also, just so you know, the football team wasn't the only winners last night, the VHS band was also the winner's of the Band of the Week. One last point, everyone who was able to attend the game, leave he game and drive home safely was the biggest winner of all.

First, I agree with almost everything said here.

Second, Band of the Week this week was between Nederland and Ozen, not Vidor and PN-G. Also, both PN-G and Vidor earned straight ones last week, as well as Lumberton and Nederland from 20-4A.

Iv'e always rooted for Nederland except for MCM, but the bulldog fans on here never seem to root for us...in this very thread one said run up the score on PN-G. I have no problems with PNG as Ned Fan.  I have tried to help the "posters" from PNG this season by pointing out that their misguided assaults on their OWN QB were unfounded/disrespectful and that they should focus on their needed improvements on Defense (which by now in district play, proves my point). 

What's wrong with Vidor giving to PNG for a change.  We all know how many times (and I am sure one of you faithful will pull out stats and give us all a long history of this and that) you have done this to other teams, including Vidor.

So how do paybacks feel?  Really, you don't like it?  Guess, neither does anyone else.
