The Newton Eagles continue their push to Class 2A playoffs tonight as they host the Anahuac Panthers!  W.T. Johnston's Eagles, 7-0 on the season and 4-0 in district, come off of a 64-10 victory over Kountze last Friday.  Meanwhile, Marty Murr's Panthers, 4-3 on the season and 3-1 in district come off of a 74-34 victory over Warren last week.

The Newton Eagles got a special sendoff at the pep rally today. This is homecoming for the Eagles and the oldest living graduate of Newton High School was there. 1931 graduate Ms. Lera Sartain was in attendance. Hasn't ever missed a homecoming. Now that's a faithful Eagle. Hat's off to Ms. Sartain and go Eagles!! :) I can't even do the math. 81+ years.
