WOSgrad Posted October 26, 2012 Report Posted October 26, 2012 10-2A-I game from Warrior Stadium in Warren at 7:30 pm
mfd814 Posted October 27, 2012 Report Posted October 27, 2012 Warren. 7. Hardin. 0. At Half. Warren stopped Hardin on 2 yd line early in 2nd Q on a Hardin Fumble
mfd814 Posted October 27, 2012 Report Posted October 27, 2012 Congrats Warren, ran the ball all over Hardin. Hardin has got to get a lot better, on 4th down stops.
Guest hardin01 Posted October 27, 2012 Report Posted October 27, 2012 Don't worry about 4th down stops. Hardin has to get alot better ALL AROUND, or it's two years and done for un-Fortune-ate.Other than the 2004-2006 teams, this was one of the worst teams all together since the 1980's.1990's teams had TONS of talent, but was playing in one of the strongest district in 3a every year. For starters, get back to throwing the ball. Learn the word - Spread !!! One of these days, the other teams in Liberty County are going to take note of the program in Dayton. There's a reason why they have continued success for 17 years straight.
mfd814 Posted October 27, 2012 Report Posted October 27, 2012 Hardin knows they need to get better at everything, i forgot the ESP 4th down. Looked pretty bad tonight. I hope this coming off season will be very helpful. Get in the weight room, and get better for next season.
Guest hardin01 Posted October 27, 2012 Report Posted October 27, 2012 How did the JV and Freshman programs do this year?I hear there is some talent, at the Junior High level. Any truth to that?
mfd814 Posted October 27, 2012 Report Posted October 27, 2012 Yes, Jv has not won many, but 8th grade has only lost 1 game, and 7th grade is not too bad either. I hear the little league team is where the future is. Some of these 8th graders will play Varsity next year.
Guest hardin01 Posted October 27, 2012 Report Posted October 27, 2012 MFD - You are hearing correctly.Ages 7-10There will be a future state championship trophy to display, from one if not more of these teams in the future.
mfd814 Posted October 27, 2012 Report Posted October 27, 2012 We do need to throw the ball more, but we have to catch the ball, and give the QB more time.
Guest hardin01 Posted October 27, 2012 Report Posted October 27, 2012 It really is about talent, MFD.Things will come around though.

Guest hardin01 Posted October 27, 2012 Report Posted October 27, 2012 You sure? That sounds like a John Madden statement, If the runner crosses the endzone with the ball, that equals 6 points, or also known as a TouchDown. You have to practice it, once it is implemented, then you can have success at doing such.Your receivers can't develop "great" hands, if they are blocking corners and safeties the entire game while running the 1980's version of the wishbone.
mfd814 Posted October 27, 2012 Report Posted October 27, 2012 They have talent, but it takes work and heart, and a Belief it can be accomplished. That young pee wee team may seem State bound now, an I hope their hard work pays off, but they have to stay together, not move away, keep up their grades, don't quit playing FB, etc.
camsdad Posted October 27, 2012 Report Posted October 27, 2012 Tough loss for Hardin. While they do need all around improvement, giving up 3rd and long and 4th and long has hurt them all year. Several players, mine included, are excited about the upcoming off season program. Hardin has lacked in this area for the past 5 years at least. Fortune-ately, that is about to change. Major Applewhite already has his eye on a couple of sophomores but has told the AD they need to work on quickness and strength. We shall see how the off season goes.
GoldGlove Posted October 27, 2012 Report Posted October 27, 2012 What sophomores at HARDIN is the University of Texas eyeing? Please tell.

ChampionEagles Posted October 27, 2012 Report Posted October 27, 2012 Need to work on quickness and strength sounds like UT is really interested. Probably has said same thing to about a thousand other kids.
whsalum Posted October 27, 2012 Report Posted October 27, 2012 Congrats to the Warriors on the win. These kids have shown a lot of heart over some pretty tough seasons the last few years.Good to see them on the winning sideline.
camsdad Posted October 27, 2012 Report Posted October 27, 2012 Please read the post again. No where does it say that UT was interested. The statement was made that if certain players were to get quicker and stronger that there college would be paid for.
